Here I am
Well, woke up this morning to a Facebook newsfeed full of happy people and mad people. I prayed before I voted and after I voted. I put it in God’s hands. Everyone is gonna be all ugly and negative toward eachother. I however am not that kind of person. To each his own. Anyway, I was off work today. My husband, Wayne, always closes his shop on Wednesdays, and we go to the stockyard. I was a little disappointed. The lady who is there every Wednesday selling homemade tamales didn’t make her cream cheese and jalapeño tamales this week. Ah, maybe next week. After we walked around and looked for a bit we got breakfast in the stockyard cafeteria and met the sweetest couple in the 60s. I recognized the man from the store I work at. He comes in a good bit. Then we stopped by the hardware store and came home. Wayne is out working on his shop expansion. I cut up a load of green onions and put them in my dehydrator. Fixed me a salad and sat down to watch a few minutes of Boston Legal on hulu before I hit the kitchen again to make some pepper jelly. It will be a first for me so hopefully it goes well. I already can and put up a good bit of stuff every year, but I’m trying to branch out to things I’ve never tried. Like making jellies. I really have not always been so domestic, but over the past 10 years I let my mother in law get me into all the canning and preserving. I really enjoy it, and it’s nice to know how to do things in a world where so many people don’t try to hold onto all those useful skills. I’m glad we are raising our boys to know how to do things as well. Its getting kind of dark and cloudy outside. Looks like it’s going to rain. That works for me. I love a good dark rainy day inside. I have got to get up and get to my peppers. I’ll have to break my chweenie’s heart since shes snuggled up in my lap. She is a long haired dapple named Pepper. She was my birthday present from Wayne. I turned 40 in October. My other dog is a chihuahua/blue heeler mix. She’s white with blue spots. Her name is Millie and she’s 5 years old. Her chubby lazy butt is on the couch. I also have 5 cats that mostly stay on my back porch. They are Milo, Binx, Lulu, Pumpkin, and Draco. Yep I love my babies. We live on a small farm. So we also have goats, sheep, mini pot bellied pigs, chickens, and ducks. Just a little background. Ok, I’m gonna get a move on and get some stuff done. 👋
