Good to be back on Open Diary

Today is rainy. I love rainy days.

I used to keep a diary here for years before it closed down. Since it opened back up, I tried to revive my old diary, but all the old memories made me sad, so after a long absence, I’ve decided to start a brand new one. It feels good to have a fresh start.

I’ve found in the past that Open Diary helped me be more productive because I wanted to do more so that I had more to write about. I’m hoping this has the same effect now because I have been lacking in enthusiasm lately for anything work related.

The stress of trying to finish my Christmas novel when I’m not happy with a single word I’ve written and have completely started over twice, and the anticipation of writing the sequel to my other novel has kept me so sidetracked, I’ve been struggling to get anything accomplished.

I uploaded a flip-through video of a coloring book video to my laptop earlier and instead of moving right along and editing the video and posting it, I somehow thought it was a good time to not only move the entire more than 5000 images from my phone to my laptop, but also to sort each one into organized folders. After so many hundreds images of my cat, my office, and the street in various seasons, (believe it or not, I actually sorted 2500 or more of these!!) I gave up and just dragged the remaining 2700 to a “Must Be Sorted” folder.

Now that the afternoon has been successfully wasted, my next big thing is dinner. I’m determined to get back on my diet so I can get down to a healthy weight, have more energy, and hopefully be able to focus better. So far today, I’ve stayed keto (two days in a row, woohoo!!) and I’ve lost one pound this week. I have to be more disciplined.

Words today on my Christmas novel = ZERO. Ugh! Hopefully I’ll get inspired this evening.

I am looking forward to daily rambling in here. It will possibly keep my brain organized to some extent and hopefully will keep me moving forward in my goals.

Also, I have no idea how to use the chapters thing on here. Is it to keep entries organized by topics? Is it to chronicle my life in organized chapters?

I’ve often thought about just restarting a new diary as well. I spent some time looking back at old entries and they tend to just make me sad too lol.

@scarlet_dragon Yes, a fresh start was just what I needed 🙂

I think sometimes looking back to see how far one has come and grown can be a good thing. But also not good to dwell on the past.

@ncumisa Yes, I agree. My old diary had spanned several years and it was so long ago. This fresh start has been really good for me.
