Music Festival Book Ins

I probably won’t have a lot of time to write because we’ve been pretty busy tonight. It’s {big music festival} and since 7p on Friday night til about 2A on Saturday morning, we’ve booked 13 people, including two drunk females who were not cooperating. One was a dental hygienist who is a Navy vet and use to be a helicopter mechanic. I mean a pretty bad ass chic and would have had all of my respect if she would have been cooperating. Me and Powers had to carry her dead weighed ass to VCA because she wasn’t about to walk on her own. I checked on her a little while ago and she said she was sober. I said “oh really? Well how safe would you feel driving a school bus full of children right now?” and she said, “I wouldn’t because it’s dark, duh!”. That gave me my answer.

I got to work this evening and took pudding to Stockton and Been and Stockton told me she had something to show me, so she comes back with a letter. Frausto is good. She has her own space in the prison, and she enjoys the food over there. At the end of her letter, she wrote “tell Ms. W I said hello and for her to keep her head up and keep doing what she’s doing.” I know it was short and simple, but it makes me feel like I’m making a difference in some of the inmate’s lives. I’ve been told by several that I’m their favorite and that they’re glad I’m on this shift because now things are going to be taken care of.

Bega, Hand and Hinch all left on our days off. Hand was the older man in A2 that always waved at me. Hinch was the little punk ass in A2 that looked like a twelve-year-old and I’d always get on his ass about putting his shirt on. He seemed to be more mature the last time I saw him than he did the first time I saw him.

Thompson is taking over Alday’s job as trustee manager. Kind of makes me sad because I won’t get to see her and cut up with her in the mornings and evenings. But I am happy for her and that she’ll be able to go at her own pace and won’t be the only one doing shit on day shift.

Green can get four people completely booked in and taken care of in about three hours, but it takes Pets all goddamn day just to do one. I don’t get it. Wait, yes, I do, he’s lazy, a typical man in law enforcement and Captain’s favorite. So, he can pretty much do whatever the fuck he wants to do. It’s sickening. The only thing I miss about day shift is Porter being the Sgt and I could get away with murder, working with Thompson and being at home at night with Lee Ann. I like the crew I work with now and I like working for Sgt. Powers. I think he’s a good Sgt and explains what needs to be done. If he asks for anything out of the ordinary, he explains why he’s asking for us to do it. Plus, it’s nice when most of the inmates are asleep for most of the shift. Lights out are at 11 pm and breakfast is at 5A and lights come back on at that time but most of the inmates go back to sleep. There’s not a lot of problems out of the inmates during the night.

I miss Lee Ann though. It worries me that she’s home while I’m at work. Thank God Nicholas is here and helps me out when I’m at work and keeps me updated if Lee Ann is seizury. It’s been nice that Nicholas is here. He’s very helpful and he seems to be in the best position he’s ever been in since I’ve known him. I’m hoping that our dreams come true soon and that Nicholas sticks to his word, but I don’t want to seem greedy. I just would like a nice house for me and Lee Ann to grow old in and Merritt to have his own little apartment on the same piece of land that he grows old in along with us. I just worry that Nicholas might fall back on his old way and that the department will become aware of him, and it makes me look bad with the department. I don’t want to stay with {the County I worked for} though for the rest of my working day. Which I don’t know what I’ll do if we build houses here and we’re stuck here. I guess I should quit worrying about things that aren’t even a thing and take it day by day and deal with the issues when they present themselves.

I’m gonna finish this entry because it’s getting close to breakfast time, and we get pretty busy.

-Peace-
