Ever after doesn’t come easy

Mount Rainier in Washington State. I went with my partner of 8 years to stay in the inn way up the mountain in July. They had 5 foot of snow on the ground at the time.

I have never had an ever after with any man, some I ended, just 2 that ended things with me. I have only had sex with nine men my whole life. I have a rule that I have to know a man at least 90 days before having sex.   Only four stuck with the rule. A lot of guys had to move on. Two also provided blood tests that they were free of STDs. I have had about 8 years relationship before we mutually ended the relationship. My current bf has not been exactly faithful. He always returns to me and I take him back. I am addicted to him. So I don’t move on.

I went on Match to look and all I could find was old farmers in bibs, guys with their shirts off for their main picture which is a real turn off, and men in suits and ties. They list what they are interested in …hunting, fishing and golf. I want to respond with I like crochet, crafting and my cat. Not exactly something men would be interested in. lol.

My current bf if 9 years wants me to come live with him up in the upper peninsula off grid once he gets his pole barn and cabin built. I am thinking that I don’t want to give up my apartment if it’s not going to work out. I could take the chance at forever which is about 15 years at our ages.

I moved in with a woman, giving up my studio apartment in Brooklyn where I was quite happy. A year later we split, because I wanted to be near my son, who was a teenager at the time. I had to “start over” with furniture, kitchen and bath things, even a comforter for my bed. I decided I would never leave myself homeless for a partner, no matter what.

I moved to my partner’s house in the woods and the isolation was just too much for me to take and i got quite depressed. And i say this as an introvert. I’d recommend keeping your place and giving the UP a trial run. Winter there could be quite lonely.

@elkay

the idea  of living off grid in the UP is a challenge.

Thats a beautiful picture.  As a Spinster I have no thoughts re relationships. My mom always says they are more trouble than they are worth 😃
