10:20a.m. I had some very weird dreams last night. I had this one letter from my father. He was telling me that my mother died. Then in another dream I was dressed as a woman. I was walking in downtown Steubenville looking for my car. I was terrified someone would recognize me and beat me up.

I had a skimpy breakfast. They served a sweet roll and scrambled eggs. Then I didn’t get dressed and in my chair until 10:00. I missed the coffee social. Consequently I can’t seem to get with it. One good thing is I’m wearing pants and a shirt today. I hate wearing those hospital gowns.

Chocolatechip went to Krogers this morning. She bought some groceries. She called when she got back from the store. She had a decent night she said. Her only problem was  a she had to wait a long time for the return bus. Still, she had a good time. It is always good to get out. It is always good to come home.

12:29p.m. I went to the Fiesta Room early for lunch. I read The White House Years while waiting for my meal. They served two tuna melt sandwiches, potato wedges and orange sherbert. It was delicious and I ate everything. I made my way back to my room after I ate. I called Chocolatechip and left a message.

I’m having a good day so far. The hoyer pad isn’t hurting. I am not in any kind of pain. I managed to read my book and talk with Chocolatechip. I also had two meals. Life is good.

2:01p.m. I am in bed. I didn’t like the aides who put me in bed. They didn’t put cream on my sores. They left the oxygen tubing on the floor. The bed controls were tangled up and couldn’t be reached. Then then walked away while not pulling the bedside table across my lap. In short I got very shitty help. At least I didn’t have long to wIt.

I then called Chocolatechip. She is having trouble with her cell phone service. She wants to switch to a different company next month. They are giving her the run around.  IQlink has the shittiest customer service. It is impossible to get a live voice. We don’t know why it is so hard just to change services. Then again everything seems to be getting harder and harder.

I also looked at the headlines. There wasn’t bus highjacking in LA. One person was killed. I went to the New York Times app. Hezbollah launched missiles at Tel Aviv. They were intercepted I saw where Trump gal is losing his edge in the Electoral college vote. Then he gave a speech, I think it was in North Carolina. He claimed women were safer while h was President and that he would be a protector of womn. What an asshole. I’m voting for Kamala Harris.

6:46p.m. I slept a lot this afternoon. I woke up around 4:00. I talked with Chocolatechip for awhile. She has a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon. We had a nice talk about different things. We talked about this  one tenant who got evicted for threatening to kill other tenants. Then we talked abou Liz who was supposed to be mentally challenged. She went off her med s and was sent back to a group home. A lot of people in Misery Towers have serious mental health issues.

We talked until she had to take her meds. Then I read The White House Years by Henry Kissinger I read until they served a late supper. I had roast pork, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli florets. I wasn’t toon crazy about supper. I ate the roast pork but I’m a bit tired of it. The potatoes were cold. There is nothing worse than cold potatoes.

I hope to read my book tonight. I’m not making much progress with it. I get sleepy everytime I start  reading it. Kissinger is very interesting. I’m on a section now where Nixon made the opening moves to China. We had no formal relations with that country since the Communists took over in 1949. So starting a rapprochement with Mao TSE Tung was a revolutionary step in our diplomacy. Anyways, I like the book it just puts me to sleep

What wise words!  “It’s always good to get out.  It’s always good to come home.”
