What Have I Done?

I don’t know how I got into contact with her…but after her nudging I finally gave in…

and began a trade account with this app.  And needed a few days for my deposit to reflect.

A few days after I made the deposit the money showed and then had to do this whole lengthy process which I have forgotten…It was a lot of

 

 

Eventually this morning I started to see some profit making…

Within just a few hours I had made a whopping load of money… so I contact my agent who transfers me to the head guy…who so happens to be in the UK. He tells me I need to deposit some more money in order to withdraw the large sum I had made.

I didn’t have this kind of money to pay to get my large sum of earnings…he stressed how this was time sensitive and I needed to find the cash some how…

After talking with my account manager she said she will help me but I need to cover the balance which is half of the total amount. Like WTF?? I don’t have any cash! After some deep breathes and walking outside in the drizzle and cold…I decide to dip into my savings and take some cash. Obviously not the full amount…but enough to meet her half way. But I will only get this money next week. I explained that to both parties and they are okay with that.

So here I am hoping that this is all legit and in fact once I have made the deposit payment I will get the large sum of earnings! Obviously pay her back…and cover some of the expenses that I have building up and really strangling my neck and then I plan to go the more face to face way of investing…  If this all works out legit then I will probably keep at it while still going the face-to-face big banks way too…

While I was freaking out and holding back tears…thinking I had been scammed , my husband tried to console me as best as he could over But the whole time I was thinking that if he was a better husband and partner with the daily expenses and I didn’t feel so used and so neglected then I wouldn’t be in this position or have to worry about money and how we are going to eat or have a hot shower tonight. Well, I am kinda worrying about that since I owe the city lots of money so I am just waiting for them to shut off the water in the flat…well hopefully this time next week I would have paid them in full and will be able to breath a lil.

Since tomorrow is only a public holiday in South Africa maybe things will happen sooner than mid next week!

WOMEN’S DAY – 9 August

Each year on the 9th of August, South Africans of all backgrounds, races and cultural groups join together in celebrating National Women’s Day. This annual public holiday commemorates an eventful day in South Africa’s history – 9 August 1956.

What makes this day so special to South Africans? It was on the 9th of August in 1956 that a large group of women began a campaign to bring an end to the pass laws enforced by the government of the time. The pass laws meant that all black people were to carry a special “pass” or identification document which they had to produce to prove they were permitted to enter a certain area designated for white people. This was a major law of the apartheid regime and greatly restricted the freedom of movement of black people.

The campaign began when some 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in the City of Pretoria to protest certain proposed amendments to the pass laws or Urban Areas Act of 1950. This eventful march on 9 August 1956 was lead by Sophia Williams-De Bruyn, Lilian Ngoyi (Strijdom Square was renamed Lilian Ngoyi Square in her honor during the 2006 Women’s Day celebrations), Rahima Moosa and Helen Joseph (born in England, she was a major anti-apartheid activist). Over 100 000 signatures marked a number of petitions which were left with the prime minister at the time, J.G. Stijdom. After handing in these documents at his office they stood quietly outside for about 30 minutes. Soon the women began to sing a protest song with words which translated into “Now you have touched the women, you have struck a rock”. Indeed, these words show the immense courage and strength of these women.

National Women’s Day celebrations were instituted in 1994 and now take place annually. The 50th anniversary of the march in 2006 was marked with a re-enactment, with many who participated in the original march taking part. National Women’s Day in South Africa is held in high esteem and is a reminder of the important contributions women make to society, as well as a time to ponder the advances in women’s rights.

Kinda funny how I still feel that Women are considered as 2nd class citizens in this country. Probably even lower if you are Black…
