Sunday 8/4/24

1:12p.m. I got off to a bad start this morning. I had a shitty aidel who was very nasty and rough. Then I missed the coffee social again. Fortunately I slept in my wheelchair all morning. I woke up in time for my noon drinks. The coffee and juice made me feel better.

I had country fried steak with mashed beans potatoes and gravy, green beans and a cup of fruit for lunch. It was pretty good. I feel a lot better thanks to coffee and some good food.

2:29p.m. I’m in bed already. The mean aide put me back in bed at 2:20. I’m glad to be off the hoyer pad. Maybe I might be up to reading The New York Times.

6:12p.m. I slept a lot this afternoon. But I managed to read several articles in New York Times. I also talked to Chocolatechip. She was in good spirits today. She watched a movie called The Betty Broderick Story She could relate to that she said but that woman in the movie went crazy. It was based on a true story. The ex wife murdered her former husband and his new wife.

We talked until it she went to bed early. Chocolatechip said she has to get to the bank tomorrow. She wants to take the early bus. So she went to bed at five. I soon had my supper. I had an Italian sub sandwich, cucumber salad and a piece of cake. I didn’t eat the salad. The sub was good.

I’m going to read the paper some more then get into my book The Edge by David Baldacci.

7:12p.m. I’m mad. It is the same old story. I need my briefs changed but can’t get any help. I will be laying in filth for a few hours. Nurse just said the aides are still taking care of dinner trays. Bullshit! Why the hell do I have to lie in shit and piss half the the night! I’d like to be reading my book but I can’t focus like this. It is just plain deplorable.

9:18p.m. I finially got my briefs changed around 8:00. The aide was nice. She put cream on my sores. Then I started reading The Edge by David Baldacci. The book is getting good. I read about five chapters tonight. Getting changed and reading definitely put me in a better mood.
