Are we really going to move to Canada?
A couple weeks ago, Dave was talking to his dad, and asked him if he could talk to his accountant and see if there was any oppurtunity in the Abbotsford area for CPA’s. He was simply curious, but when he got a call back from his dad later that day, he was shocked. Dave’s dad said that his accountant had told him he could make two phone calls and get Dave a job. Apparently they need CPA’s there badly. There aren’t many CPA’s there because you have to be in the states for a few years to acquire it. So Dave’s dad was very excited to be telling him this and told him that his accountant would like to set up a phone conference to talk with him. So, this past Wednesday they spoke on the phone and he told Dave that if he moved there, the possibilities would be endless for him. He told Dave once he was done with his CPA exams and had his hours finished, to give him a call and he could send his resume to some of the firms around there. Dave is really excited, but he said there’s still some things to consider before we decide to do this. For one, the pay would have to be excellent because living in Abbotsford isn’t cheap. I guess we’ll have to wait till he sends his resumes out to really know what these firms would offer him.
The thought of moving to Canada scares me a bit because it would be a big change for me. Moving a half hour away from my family and friends wasn’t that big of a deal for me, but this is a way BIGGER move. It’s not definite that we’re doing this, but I think there’s a very good chance this will happen.
wow, i’ve just checked out where abbortsford is and it’s so close to my wonderful vancouver! if you can afford it (i know vancouver cost of living is quite high) then i’d say go for it. i’m super-jealous! we’d love to move there, but it’s 5000 miles from everything we know, so quite scary. wherabouts do you live at the mo? xx

We had a hard time deciding to move 20 minutes away from Kevin’s work and our families. I couldn’t imagine having to debate this one. It comes down to what’s best for your family and his career. Good luck to you guys!
