It’s always something!

Keira went to the doctor today because of some mysterious blisters on her hands, feet, and in her mouth. The doctor diagnosed her with hand, foot, and mouth disease. It’s nothing serious, but she’ll probably be stuck with it until the end of this week. The blisters on her hands and feet aren’t bothering her, but the ones in her mouth are. All weekend she kept telling me her mouth hurt and she didn’t want to eat or drink anything. I was able to get her to drink really cold water and some popsicles, but that’s about it. They said it’s actually quite common in young children and there’s really nothing you can do for it besides giving her oragel for her mouth and tylenol to help her sleep at night. The weekend was rough because if the tylenol wore off, Keira was up screaming because of her mouth. Today she ate well, and I think she’s feeling better. Hopefully by the end of the week she’ll be blister free and completely back to normal.

Oh yeah and I busted my freakin’ bonding on my tooth again, so I have to go to the dentist tomorrow!

Thank you for your note.. You know, it’s really true- one person can make all the difference.. I probably would have seethed for ages over that incident, but with each note of support I’ve felt better about what happened there.. If no one spoke up to tell me “yes, you have a valid concern over this attitude” then I’d be pretty glum right now.. So just so you know- your note made a difference!!
