The most unshakable union through the ages has been that of the Queen and her Horse.

She sees that he is fed plentifully, and he offers his power to plough acres of fields for growing Her Majesty’s grain.

.
She sees that his stall is bedded with the freshest straw, and in his tiredness he knows her stable to be the place of deepest rest.
.

.
.
She wipes dust from under his eyes and brushes his mane, and he remains still and calm in her presence for he knows no softer hands.

.
.
In Her Majesty’s darkest days, his sensitive ears listen to her thoughts like music, and through his enormous heart he pulls every burden from Hers.

.
In any season should he fall sick or suffer injury, she rescinds all demands on him, and his health is always quick to be restored.
.

.
She sees that his paddock drains well, and is abundant with rich grasses, and he stands tall in howling wind and rain until she calls for him.
.
.
.
.
She sees that his hooves are perfectly trimmed, and that his saddle never sores, and always without temper he carries her.
.
.
.
.
If all the fences were taken down, and stable gates left open, he would not roam wild, for he knows his Queen has already made him free.
