Take a Walk With Me.

Hello Beautiful People!

Well I guess this is going to be a catch up entry, so since I have so much to tell you all, and so much to show you, it’s a long one ok! I often wonder if you all actually read the entry’s or if you just skim over them, I know I have in the past so don’t feel bad if you do k 😛 However, this time I would really like you to go make a coffee, sit down and read. There have been some wonderful things occur in the last week or so; however there have been some very disappointing things too.

Firstly though, just to set the scene, I want you guys to see what I am seeing right now 8.13 pm Sunday 16.12.2007! As I write this out the back under the pergola, we are in the eye of a thunderstorm. Due to daylight saving, it is still light here till around 9.30 pm, and I have to tell you all, there is a light show of which I have not seen in a very long time! In the background as you will see from the pics below, it is as black as midnight in a desert, yet all alight with brilliant rays of sunshine are all the gum trees and the hills behind them. I am in NO way the photographer that Bren is, but I think I have captured a little of the emotion on the old Nokia N95 lol!

To add to the bliss, I have only just laid my hands on one of; if not the best cd I have ever bought! There’s a pic below, it’s called “Mystique” by a band known as Special EFX, mid eighties I think. No singing, just the soothing sounds of synthesizers and drums, guitars and horns. Great sex music if you ask me lol, not that I have ever tried that 😛 All I am trying to say is that at this very moment in time 8.21 pm 16.12.2007, I am feeling so complete as a man! I urge you all to make the investment though, and track down this recording; I guarantee you will love it as much as I do!

So, let’s start with “Babies Logg”, much has happened there! Because of Ani’s preaclampsia, it was imperative that we have an actual scan to prove the exact time of birth and her final date. I am pleased to say that we are now eight weeks pregnant and all seems well! There is a slight bleeding from the uterus wall, however I know myself this is little to be concerned about, and rest is paramount for my angel. I’ve named the little one “Peanut”, and I often walk past Anika, rub her tummy and whisper real close to it, “Hello Peanut, Daddy’s waitin k”. There is no point trying to take a pic of the scan x-ray for you tonight, all I get is a massive flash blur from light, but I will work on that for you all! Ani has been incredibly tired, to the point of exhaustion. I try to do my best for her, but after you read the next paragraph you will know how hard that has become for me to achieve. She is going to be the BEST mother in creation, this I am certain about, because she still is with the boys even though she tires easily. She works like a maniac, takes little time off, and then wonders why she goes to bed so early. My Mum sent us our first baby gift, a bib that has “L is for Lion” on it lol! The bub is due about the 29th of July 2008 so that would make them a little Leo J)))))))). She is having SO much trouble with aching breasts. As it is they are HUUUUUGEEE!!!! However now that they are growing even more they weigh a tonne L All that aside though we are well in the baby logg department I am pleased to inform J.

Some bad news however was received in regards to me. I have, for years now, suffered with a bad back. It was originally caused from an accident at work, and although it mended itself, the pain I get

in the mornings has now come to the point that Ani has had to put my work socks on. I simply can not bend over. As a rule, the pain dulls down to next to nothing by mid morning of each day, and that allows me to carry on with work, play, whatever. A week ago the pain did not go away, and it increased in severity as the day moved on. I was met with sharp spasmodic pains that stretched from my lower back all the way down the back of my right leg. The pain was unbearable and there was no dulling it with pain killers. I left early, went home to rest, and that made it even worse. I cramped up and Anika made an appointment with the Doctor. After x-rays and further consultations, the verdict left me speechless. When she told me what I was faced with I nearly died, however “advancing osteoarthritis” in the lower spine is livable.

The hard core truth is that I have osteophytic lipping and degenerative changes with disc narrowing to L5/S1. It is irreversible and the only thing I can really do is remain active with the help of meds. Great, on meds for the rest of my fukin life!!! She strongly suggested that I look at changing my lifestyle and that includes work. Damage will continue as long as I am maintaining heavy lifting and so on, so in order to cope with the further degeneration of the joints I need to minimize the stress, however increase my activities. Swimming, cycling, surfing is still ok, infact they will aid in keeping the area active, but in order to achieve these things I MUST continue taking anti inflammatory and pain killers. It’s Monday now, since I started writing this last night and I have come back home after only four hours at work. The fucking bastards sent me straight back out driving after they promised to give me light duties! What’s wrong with these people! They haven’t coped well at all with me being away for four days, and this is what they do when I attempt to come back! Doctors again tomorrow, and more time off! I have to see a physio anyway so whatever.

On a happier note!!!! I have been tottering about the place getting ready for the Christmas onslaught from the family. Yeah, yeah I know, “what the hell are you doing with a bad back”. I did say “tottering” didn’t I!!! I did a little planting in the garden beds! I so love my flowers, they give me nothing but joy to look at and grow, and they are looking AWESOME!!! Ani and I have done all our shopping and the tree is up and lit up like a Christm….. Oh, just realized what I was about to write then lol! I have been talking with Krystelle EVERY day and she can hardly contain her excitement J we have her enrolled in school now, ready to start and all that is left to do there is buy her uniforms. She’s going into the back room of the house, the “Japanese Room”, so I’m glad she loves the Asian influences like her old man. However I think that she’s just happy about the fact she will have a queen sized bed lol!

On a final note, if I haven’t mentioned it before, I am so happy to be back on here with all you guys J you just can’t match the intimacy that open diary provides us with. Face book, Myspace, Bebo and the like just haven’t mastered that yet huh! Oh, and all the pics are “thumbnails” ok, just click on then to open the big picture J

Take good care of you!

I Love You Guys!

WOW what a wonderful entry. First off, I am sorry to hear about your back troubles…sounds like you should try some yoga, ask them about it, I think it would stretch you out more and relieve your pain a bit.
