Much Ado About EVERYTHING!

G’day All,

Much ado about EVERYTHING! This has been an exhausting week in so many ways. I’ve worked long and hard on the second song which I’ve called “T.K”, and although the lyrics are finished, I can’t seem to find the time to record the vocal track. I’ve been in spring cleaning mode this week, not for any reason except that I know it has to be done and I want the house to be clinically clean for Christmas (which is at our place this year).

I have this ridicules annoying thing about me that causes me to move fridges, washing machines, scrubbing behind them, and using toothbrushes to get all the nitty gritty things gone. I thing Ani believes I am pregnant! To punish her, I secretly used her toothbrush to scrub the toilet lol!! JUST KIDDING!!!!! Fuck, she’s gonna kill me when she reads this 😛 its ok, I keep all the old ones for doing just this thing. The next thing will be that we all contract golden staff for it being too clean!

Speaking of Ani, I’ve had good cause to miss her terribly. Her 86 year old grandfather had two heart attacks one after the other mid week of last. Its fine for people to say “he’s had a good innings”, that’s quite a common saying here, and although it is said in good faith, it is never taken that way when it is your own backyard that the pain is felt. She loves him dearly and virtually collapsed when she got the news from her father. Her grandparent lives in Tathra, a beachside community located on the south beaches of NSW. It’s about a three and a half hour drive from Canberra, and she naturally headed off with Emma on Friday just gone. I kissed her good bye on Friday morning and didn’t see her again till Sunday evening. It took some convincing, but I suggested that the boys stay home with me because they would be uncontrollable and cause her grief to turn to rage. Although they would just be doing what they normally would do, it would be too much to worry about in the quiet confines of a hospital ward.

He is still alive, but only for a while, even his wife (grandma) has succumbed to the fact that he will never be coming home. His lung capacity is only working at 5%, and his diabetes has escalated to fatal highs. The next heart attack will surely kill him, and we all know it will, it’s just a waiting game now, a very painful waiting game.

It is safe to say, that Krystelle and Tabetha NEVER gave me the turmoil that the boys did this weekend. I don’t know weather it’s the whole boy verse girl thing, but I was stressed to the max! When Ani called, I tried to not let on just how severe they were being, but she knew I was having trouble with them. It ranged from back chatting me in front of their friends, to disobeying my requests, and the final straw, bringing twelve stray kids through my clean house! I allowed six to pass by me before I cracked it! Dirty muddy shoes on my coffee lounge (A BIG NO NO), children from the neighborhood drinking milk out of the bottle (KIDS I DON’T EVEN KNOW), all of them raiding the pantry, upturning all the toy boxes in the bedrooms, and the worst of all, some thirteen year old dirt bag shitting in my ensuite toilet and pissing on the seat!!!!! HE WALKED THROUGH OUR BEDROOM!!! I felt like I had been violated by kids!!

Those of you who know me well know I have temper to be reckoned with, and that force burst out of my skin that Sunday afternoon! I couldn’t take it anymore, I wanted the house clean, and I was doing it to keep my mind off Ani not being here, but most of all, I had given the boys a talk about getting pocket money if they helped me out. Needless to say, Morgan’s first words after the ferals were discarded from the house were “are we still getting our pocket money?” I think you all know what my answer was, and I am certain the neighbors heard it too!

By the time Ani walked in I was a mess, splitting head ache, house still a mess, and two VERY troubled boys. It was NOT the welcome home I wanted her to have, so I had to suck it all in and pretend all was ok so she could relax. One good thing did happen over the weekend though, and it came in the form of a little lost dog. It seems the kids had attracted a little chiwawa cross that followed them all over the neighborhood. Once it came to my door, it never left 😛 I hope you guys have all seen shreck, the bit where the puss in boots gives that droopy eye stare? Well this little girl was looking over the bottom step of the front door and pouting to me! AWWWWWW!!!! Shit I’m a sucker for lil doggy’s lol!

Honestly guys, you would have all been calling the men in the white coats if you had heard me! Talking to her like a little baby, cuddling her, she was so beautiful, and so well looked after too. White with tan patches, little legs, but very strong, and a face you could die for! It was really hot, infact we had a thunderstorm later that evening, so I put out a big bowl of water for her at the front door, in the hope that she would wander back home. Well, she didn’t, infact when Ani came home she was then at the backdoor looking through the fly screen

with that same cute look. So, what yawl think happened once Ani got a look at her lol! Yup, “go give her a bath bub and bring her inside”. I did, and I was pleasantly surprised that she had not one single flea on her! I wrapped her up in a towel and she fell asleep on my lap while the storm raged outside. She wasn’t young, defiantly a house dog, and I would say about 35 (five years). There would most defiantly have been a distraught family out there on Sunday night, but I told Ani that come Monday, we would try to find her home.

This morning, my instructions to the boys were simple, don’t let the dog out. We affectionately named her “Gizmo”, but it wasn’t the boys who slipped up, it was Ani L she didn’t mean to, the little bugger was so fast she bolted past her legs and took off after the boys and followed them to school. She tried to coax Gizmo back, but she kept going and I told by phone to let her be. The best we could hope for was that she would either come back to our place, or head back to her home, which we hoped would be the case.

I guess it wouldn’t have worried me so much if she had just been any stray dog, but she wasn’t, she slept at the foot of our bed all night, never pee’d in the house, and never made a sound, just gave big kisses and was so much of a pleasure to have around. I will be honest, I wanted to keep her, and Ani gave me the same impression too when she rang me twice today to see if she had come back to the house. I quizzed the boys when the got home from school about what happened, and the story was that she was taken to the office at school and obviously was picked up by her owners. At that point, Morgan handed me a sign that was taped to a pole and it had two phone numbers and a brief description of a little dog lost. I couldn’t wait to call them! The voice on the phone was of a man surprised to hear from me; however after telling him his little girl stayed with us last night, and that I was so happy to have her here, he told me that she was not the dog he was looking for. In fact, his dog was surely dead since that sign was a month old.

What was wonderful, was that he was so genuine in his thanks for my calling, his daughter had been distressed since the day “Peanut” took off during a storm, but after fully discussing the look of the two dogs, we both deduced that “Gizmo” was someone else’s baby. So tonight, Ani and I are talking about the wonderful little lady that graced our presence, and tomorrow I am going to call the school in an endeavor to locate her, or at the very least, find out if she can be rescued. It was both a wonderful end to an awful weekend, and a terrible ending as well.

I am without Ani next weekend as well and although I am fully supportive of her career and the lengths we must go to, I miss her so much when she is away. Oh, and if the boys play up like they did this weekend, I am going to sell them on the black market lol!

I’ll let you know what happens with Gizmo, even if you aren’t religious; say a little prayer for her ok!

I Love You Guys!

Oh my God, what a weekend. Stray boys running through your house with muddy shoes and attitude? I would have lost my head. I messaged Ani today to send her some hugs and to let you both know that Vee and I are planning on coming down to Canberra on Vee’s birthday which should be about early Feb or so but we’ll plan it a little further ahead. Should be fun! Much love and prayers to Ani’s granddad and her family. Miss ya bello! *hugs and kisses*

Being a dad to boys is never easy and dirt comes with all kids. Take them to play outside the house at a park or something and only allow one friend each over – is less mess and more controlled Hope you find the little dog sounds like a cutie.
