Wednesday 12/13/23

4:15a.m. I had some weird dreams last night. I don’t remember them. Also, I only got changed once .I was laying in urine and feces most of the night. At least I didn’t suffer from arthritis. Then the aides got me up way too early at 4. But I survived. I’m above the dirt and blessed with another day.

9:41a.m. I slept in my wheelchair until they served breakfast. They served biscuits and gravy. It was delicious. Good food, coffee and orange juice perked me right up. Then I called Chocolatechip. She was in good spirits and s well. Chocolatechip was already doing housework. I said you are worth your weight in gold. Chocolatechip said she like to get her work done in the morning while she has the energy.

She got her package from Amazon. It looks like a gift card. Chocolatechip said knowing Kathleen it will be in a large amount. I said if it is you can use that for cleaning products. That is a good idea she said. Chocolatechip already got one Christmas package. I said I’m glad you are having a nice Christmas this year. We talked for a few minutes then she wanted to get back to work.

I chilled out until it was time for the Coffee Social. Then I made my way to the Fiesta Room I had my extra cup of coffee. The caffeine worked its magic. I feel wide awake and ready to seize the day . I’m going to read my NIB Study Bible. I’ll get my hours worth of Bible reading done. Then I can concentrate on Song of Susanna by Stephen King.

12:57p.m. I had a great time at the Coffee Social. I studied my Bible for over an hour. I read eight chapters from Exodus. I had three cups of coffee and a glass of chocolate milk. I stayed for lunch. They served country fried steak with gravy, potato wedges, green beans, a dinner roll and pineapple tidbits for dessert. Lunch was delicious. I ate every morsel. Then I made my way back to my room.

I’m having a pretty good day so far. I had two good meals and plenty of coffee. Best of all is I’m not suffering from arthritis pain. I wasn’t bothered by hearing anyone talk about me at the social. In fact,I’m starting to feel very comfortable being around people. In addition I did my Bible study for the day. I am really enjoying it.

The only problem is I miss Chocolatechip. She is very busy with her caregiver from 10-2. I’m under strict orders not to call during those hours. She will call me after the caregiver leaves. I just get pretty lonesome not talking to anyone. Nobody in this place talks to me. I try to keep myself occupied by reading. Books make for good company but sometimes you just need to be around other people.

3:12p.m. Well after two full days Chococolatechip Fired her caregiver. The caregiver admitted that I she was a former crack addict. Chocolatechip and I were chatting about this on Messenger. When she told me right away I said let the caregiver go. I said once an addict always an addict. Chocolatechip said she didn’t get good vibes from the caregiver. I said trust your gut feeling. Chocolatechip called WV Choice and let her go.

Then we started talking about caregivers in general. I said I honestly don’t think you need one. Your apartment is always clean. You always pass inspection with flying colors. In my opinion these caregivers today are more trouble than they are worth. Chocolatechip agreed. She said this whole experience was causing a lot of anxiety. I said you do a pretty good job without one. I would not asked for another. So Chocolatechip said she can take care of herself on her own.

Then she opened the u package. It turned out to be a 14 carrot necklace. Chocolatechip loves it. I bet it cost a pretty penny but I didn’t say that. Chocolatechip said the necklace has a crucifix on it. She is going to wear it to the Bible Study party on Friday.

I’m in bed now. I’m kind of mad. The aides put me to bed at 2:30. They said they’ll be right back. I am still dressed. I I have not been changed since 4am. This is the only bad part of my day.

4:39p.m. I finally got undressed and changed. I feel better. Just sitting in bed waiting for supper. I ate a big lunch but I’m getting hungry. I’m not sure what’s on the menu. The aides threw my menu away when I was at the social. I just hope it is something good.

6:32p.m. They served chicken, dressing, brussel sprouts,a dinner roll and apple upside down cake. It was delicious and I ate most of it. I never got any drinks tonight. That’s Ok, I had more than enough coffee.

I didn’t read this afternoon. I talked s lot with Chocolatechip. Despite drinking four cups of coffee I’m getting sleepy. I do not think I’ll do any reading tonight. Oh well, I’m not at West Liberty studying for the big test. I’m going going and gone.
