Saturday 10/28/23

8:02a.m. well, I’m above the dirt. I had another good night. I didn’t have any arthritis pain or muscle spasms. I fell asleep early and didn’t have any weird dreams. I dream about a pretty girl with long black hair. She reminded me of Chocolatechip. Then I received great care. Aides came in to change my briefs a couple of times. They got me up in my wheelchair by five o’clock

I slept in my wheelchair until they served drinks and breakfast. I didn’t eat the eggs. I had toast., coffee and juice. For some reason I didn’t have much of an appetite this morning

Speaking of appetite I didn’t eat supper either. The main course was chili over rice. I was afraid I’d get sick. I’ve hardly eaten anything since I had that horrible pain in my belly a couple days ago. I do not ever want to go through that again. I did have a pbj later pon Surprisingly, peanut butter goes down without problems.

I talked with Chococolatechip after dinner. She went to the post office Friday afternoon. Chococolatechip mailed that Amazon gift card by certified mail. They told her I should be getting it Monday.. I said I don’t trust the nursing home. I hope it doesn’t get stolen She also is going to call legal aide next week. Comcast still hasn’t cashed her ! money order. We talked about other things until she went to bed.

I did a a lot of reading last night. I read my book The Wast Lands. I Read for a couple hours. I wanted to finish the chapter I had eleven more pages. But the battery was running low. That is the trouble with tablets and e-readers. It was around my bedtime anyway so I called it a night.

1:30p.m. I made it to the coffee social. I stayed for one cup of coffee and read my book The Wast Lands. I sure did a lot of reading this morning . I read until lunch. I ate breaded chicken,k a dinner roll and a cup of glazed pears for desert . This time I didn’t get sick or bloated. I also had a cup of coffee and a fruit punch for drinks.

I talked with Chococolatechip. I was trying to talk Chococolatechip into calling Frontier. Comcast still hasn’t cashed her money order I said you better be careful because they will be charging you double for November. She looked them up online. According to the web page they have an office in Weirton on West Street. I said good you can take the bill to their office. She said she will give them a call plus Legal Aide Monday.

Chococolatechip said she was busy this morning. She did a couple loads of laundry. She also made her famous homemade chili. Chococolatechip makes the best chili in the world . I said I would love to have some of your chili. But I promptly couldn’t ebat it anymore because it would make me sick. It isn’t spicy but she puts in a lot of onions. Onions do not agree with me anymore.

I’m having a good day so far. I’m not bloated from lunch. I’m not in any kind of pain. I enjoyed my book this morning. I had one good meal without getting bloated. Chococolatechip and I talked a lot after lunch. Anytime I talked to Chococolatechip makes me feel good.

4:41p.m. Chococolatechip switched to Frontier. They will come and install everything on the 2nd between one to five. Now I’m kind of worried if I have her good advice. Frontier couldn’t tell her when the first bill will be due. She still has a November bill for Comcast. Will she have to pay two bills in November? Also. Frontier couldn’t tell her the channel line up. Will she like the package?

When Chococolatechip went into all the details I was worried I gave her bad advice. I said as much. Chococolatechip said she is done with Comcast. They screwed her over in October when they didn’t cash the money order. We both think switching to Frontier is a good idea. I kept telling her Comcast will double bill next month. I thought by switching she would get out of those payments. But I’m still kind of worried I got her screwed up.

She said not to worry. She can take care of herself. If worse comes to worse she can ask family for help. Chococolatechip said worry about the Amazon gift card . She said she tracked the package. I’m supposed to get it Monday. I said I worry about everything. I also said I think the nursing home will steal the card

We talked on the phone for a long time. She was telling me how she baked homemade cookies. She wants to give them to her sister Elaine and Cleve when they come for a visit next weekend. She has been busy in the kitchen today.

I hope to buy those two John Grisham novels. Grisham is my second all time favorite author. I can’t wait to start reading The Firm and The Exchange: After the Firm. But then I still want to finish the Dark Tower novels. I have so many books I don’t know which way to jump!Shake rattle and role Reading can save your soul!

Supper is late. They are serving pork chops I love pork chops. I think I can handle pork chops.

7:58p.m. I only ate one pork chop, a dinner roll and chocolate pudding for supper. I wasn’t too hungry. I just don’t have much of an appetite since I was sick. I talked with Chococolatechip after I ate. We talked for a little bit then she went to bed. I started reading and read The Waste Lands for ninety minutes. I read over seventy pages today. I just finished a very long chapter I started this morning.
