Languages
Tired today, sore arm, too much to write too much with my right thumb on this phone. I slept a lot. I saw a rainbow. It was pretty. This morning I already thought the clouds were pretty. Then a rainbow was pointed out to me. I practiced the next five hiragama characters so I can now write ki (tree), aka (red) and eki (train station) in Japanese. I am having an experience of sort of altered states of consciousness as I dive into these languages. I can just tell as I study more and start diving into German again and pick up some Japanese that this could really save me. I can’t explain. Last night I dreamed I was studying German again and there was a sort of rap rhythm in German which felt so exciting and good. Why did I not realise years ago that I don’t read enough fiction because I am not reading enough in foreign languages? Imagine the pleasure not only of reading a really exciting book but if reading it in a language that you love being in… each language seems to give me access to different parts of myself, and I can’t believe it took this long to finally start this journey.
you are doing amazing 🌷
