F#@$ the time change!

You know what? I’m done with the time change. I don’t care if it is dark at 2 in the afternoon and the sun rises at 3AM. I DO NOT CARE. I’ll get thicker curtains. I’ll put up thick, dark blinds so that my kids will never know if it’s light out or not unless we go outside.

ANYTHING would be better than trying to change my 8 month old’s schedule.  See, she has this problem where if she goes to sleep between 7PM and 8:30PM she’ll wake up a half hour later and won’t go back to sleep until like midnight. It’s her much needed baby powernap.  Well, I’d learned to deal with that, but now that time is messed up because that time FEELS like 6PM-7:30PM. So I figured I’d just move it a little at a time… Moving the times back 15 minutes at a time.

No, it didn’t work. She got a little powernap and was up until midnight.

And that’s all that’s going on with me. Still doing the 30 day sex challenge and Stephen is still being SO nice… Oh! Funny story. (demented, but funny)

This is a conversation between Stephanie (5) and I

Her: Mommy, I’m so glad we have a baby sister. I always wanted one, but I didn’t want to tell you until we got one.
Me: Aww! That’s sweet. I’m glad you’re happy.
Her (completely seriously): Now I need you to grow a baby boy in your tummy for Christopher.
Me (laughing): Oh? I’m sorry, but Daddy says Mommy can’t grow anymore babies in her tummy!
Her (Again, serious):  Well, then. If you grow a boy baby in your tummy you’ll just have to talk to Daddy about it.
Me: That’s very good. We have to talk about things, right? What if Daddy says I still can’t have a baby in my tummy?
Her (As serious and sure of herself as a five year old can be): Then… I guess we’ll just have to kill it.

I know… How sick is that? I wanted SO badly to laugh, but of course I explained to her that we don’t kill anything (especially not babies lol) and told her that Mommy and Daddy are all done having babies.

I think my kid needs counselling lol

lol that is hilarious

I DID laugh!! 🙂 I hate the time change too. Emma is awake until 9 or 9:30 and then when I have to wake her up at 6:30 to get her ready for daycare she is a TERROR. It’s awful.

I did not see that ending coming. How funny:) Good luck with the sleep schedule:)

thats HYSTERICAL!!! kids really do say some crazy stuff its all very simple to her “yeah mom well kill it “” lmao!!!

March 12, 2008

I know, kids are so funny. It’s a shame they grow up and become so SERIOUS.

March 13, 2008

Kids say the most outrageous things!!! I don’t think I posted that when I told princess that Daddy might have to leave the house, she said that was fine, she could just get a step-dad!!!!

Oh, and RYN: I also think he may just be trying to guilt me. I have tried to make it clear that there are no promises of a reconciliation, and that I’m not that optimistic he can do it. I am not pulling any punches on how I feel. I do feel bad for him, but that won’t affect whether or not I protect myself… And while I will attempt to talk him out of walking out of the children’slives (for THEIR sake), at the end of the day he’s a big boy and that decision is his alone. He tried to make me feel it was my fault for breaking up the family – but I don’t accept that. I know I’m doing the right thing. I am of the view that we may reconcile. But I wouldn’t put it any higher than that. Isn’t it wonderful when they’re nice???? I don’t think they realise how hurtful they can be…

RYN: thanks, sometimes its hard for me to ask for help. One because I like to think I’m some sort of super hero and two because I hate repeating myself. I am however glad about the tree as well:)

March 16, 2008

RYN: Ha ha, I didn’t allow anything shiny in the house today:)

Thanks! I’d really recommend the communication thing. It feels so much better. But sometimes you need to figuratively hit them over the head with a hammer first…

March 17, 2008

haha sounds like she’ll have a great sense of humor

March 22, 2008

ha ha, sometimes when you are feeding kids corn dogs and fries are much much better than fruit and lasagna:)

Where are you? Its been a long long time since you updated:) Thanks for the nice comment. You are right Manatee is the word I am looking for. Or beached whale or elephant walrus, any of those would suffice. I’m really pissy and just want to have a baby already:) I suppose I might miss my belly, but I’d venture to say I will miss my 7mo belly not my 9mo belly:)

Ok, just read your second note. YOU ARE SO MEAN!!!! You and my sisters. They all had theirs around 36 wks. Here I sit edging ever closer to 38 and I wasn’t even dilated yesterday at the Dr. Appt. Damn. She did feel the head, so that must be a sign somethings going on. Right? RIGHT?

April 4, 2008

Yeah, bed rest wouldn’t be the worst thing ever:) However I’m sure my weekend entails a few long walks with the dogs, some laundry, some cleaning and of course cooking some food:) I have had it easy though, so I really shouldn’t complain:)
