Plant-based milk
I am semi-addicted to plant-based milk. I was never really into dairy milk but once I discovered milk made from grains… mmmh, yum, I am like an oatmilk enthusiast or something. It could be like wine-tasting. I am amazed by all the different flavours and textures that show up at different stages of the swallowing process. I don’t know if anyone else has this experience, it is like there is always something new to discover in a good gulp of plant based milk. It is not just the taste and texture though. I don’t think to buy it most of the time but when it’s in the house and it is someone else’s I notice I start to crave it. And then when I pour a glass and start drinking it, say, after a meal, I have a strong sense of relief like, ahhh, it feels like this is giving me something nutritionally, something that my body needs, somehow, and I feel that immediately upon swallowing, like there is actually something in it nutritionally that my body just loves to soak up, and I can’t really tell
the difference between that and just feeling fulfilled with the experience of drinking it. I love searching my tastebuds for the tiny particles of grains that make it so yummy and it is kind of amazing too that grains can be used to make milk. It is like, ah, okay, I guess I needed to gulp down something if that nature, and nothing else was doing it. Nor can I think of anything that could replace that craving when I am craving it. It’s not always a craving for a particular thing so much as, I keep eating different things and always wanting something more like that didn’t satisfy me but then as soon as I start drinking a glass of good plant-based milk it was like, yum, that was it.
