Today’s Irritations – 10/01/23

I don’t intend for this to become a daily thing, but at least for the second consecutive day, I bring to you today’s irritations.

—Women wearing ridiculously long eyelashes

I get that beauty standards constantly change, but for the life of me, I’ll never understand why and/or how 3-inch long eyelashes are considered cute, beautiful, or even remotely attractive.  I don’t get it.

—Pajamas in public

Regardless of whether the offender is a man, woman, or child, one should never leave the house wearing pajamas or any kind of sleepwear.  Put some damn clothes on.  Surely, you can find some sweats or shorts to throw on.  Going out in public in pajamas is uncouth and just plain lazy.  Put some damn clothes on and not the ones in which you normally sleep.

—Seasonal marketing

Today is October 1^st.  Do I really need to see stores already selling Christmas stuff?  I know this sort of thing has been happening for years now, but that doesn’t mean that I like it or condone it.  I already know what happens next.  Come 12/26, stores will already have their Valentine’s Day wares on their shelves.

—Being part of a duo

Actually, I wrote that wrong.  What I should’ve written was, “Being the reliable half of a duo”.  Tomorrow morning, I want to get an early start to the workday.  Serena is seldom punctual, much less, early.  Inevitably, this creates some measure of discomfort for me because I like to adhere to a schedule and sometimes, other people don’t understand that and they take their sweet time.  I’m already getting anxious for tomorrow, just thinking about it, because I don’t want my workday to start later than I’d like.  Sometimes being rigid in my clock-minding ways can suck and can lead to some major discomfort for me.
