Today’s Irritations – 09/30/23

In no particular order, I present to you today’s irritations.

–Motorists refusing to use their turn signals.

The frequent offenders today seemed to be those driving Teslas.  It’s a shame that those cars don’t have working turn signals.  Thought turn signals were standard on all vehicles, even the expensive, ugly ones.

–The folks at the drive-thru completely messing up my order

I ordered two tacos and instead, I received one taco and a small order of onion rings.  Somehow, I don’t even think this is close.  If it matters, two of the people working today presented as being mentally slow, or at least, minimally interested in working this particular shift.  It especially showed in their performance, at least, for my order.  And yes, I still ate the onion rings.

–People choosing not to return my text message(s)

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother.  I really do.  I’m not talking about someone taking several hours to reply either.  No, I’m referring to those who simply do NOT respond, not even so much as a courtesy response.  I’ve never been the type to expect a response within seconds or even minutes, because I know that that’s somehow unreasonable.  Took me years to learn that.  Hell, sometimes an hour or two might go by, but is it too much to ask for some kind of response?  To add insult to injury, some people want to respond with those eloquent one-word responses too.  Why even bother then, if you’re not going to show any effort?

–Puppy death

A friend of mine had a puppy unexpectedly die today.  I didn’t know how to console her.  My specialty is humor.  Death isn’t funny, so that pretty much makes me useless in times when things die.

–Low cell phone battery

Because of this, I couldn’t use Spotify today while driving, like I normally do.  This relegated me to listening to the radio, which I completely abhor, because today’s music is trash.  Thankfully, I wasn’t going that far, but that’s not the point.  I need MY music and not that shit that pollutes the radio today.  Call me set in my ways.  You can even call me “selective”.  I just need to be more responsible with ensuring that my phone has enough battery for me to drive comfortably with Spotify actively running.

That is all.
