Wednesday 8/23/23

8:30a.m I’m a big miserable and pissed right low. I’ve been peeing like crazy since they got me up at 4:30 I’m soaked and need my briefs changed. But the aides are busy with breakfast trays or so they claim. I do not see it can take that long to pick up empty breakfast trays.i other than this I’m having a good day in the nursing home I’m used to being miserable here.

Aides changed my briefs at 4 :30 and got me in my wheelchair. I slept in my chair until they served breakfast I had bacon, eggs and toast. I also had my coffee and orange juice. The coffee hit the spot. I was feeling good until I started urinating. I peed three or four times and soaked myself.

I swear I hate having incontinence. I hate having to fight for help. Trust me,it is no fun lying in urine and feces. It is no fun having to wait three or four hours for help What makes me. Miserable the most is it gets sore around my private parts, sometimes very sore. This is when I start getting very anxious and angry.

Well. a male aide just told me he will be back in a second. He has to grab a Hoyer. A second can mean anything from one minute to next week.

I want to take back the last paragraph. He did come back to change me. They were both  nice  and did a good job.

I must confess that I haven’t been reading. I have about had it with Akhil Reed Amar.I read two chapters  og The Law of the Land A Guided Tour of Our Constitutional Republic. I just can’t seem to get into the rest of that book. For one thing I read five of Amar’s books. Perhaps I should give himna rest  and move on to something else.

Then I bought those two books Monday. I keep thinking about that Stephen King book Holly. But that won’t be available until September 5. King is my all time favorite author and I never miss a book of his. I can always read Decision in Philadelphia. That will tide me over until King is available.

But then again I’m afraid I if I quit Amar I will never get back to him. I hate not finishing reading a book I bought. So I’ll probably struggle with itp.If I read diligently ill finish that sucker in thirteen days.

2:50p.m. I pushed myself to the Fiesta Room. I had a good time. I chatted with Chococolatechip on Messenger for the longest time. She sent a photo of us together. I was trying to figure out how to download it and put it on my diary. I couldn’t do it. Next time she comes I’ll have somebody take a picture of us with my tablet.

She also so talked about Freedom Place in Weirton. She has the application filled out. Her case manager is taking her down Monday afternoon. I used to live there and she asked me all mindsbof questions about the place. I said you are worrying too much about it. I’m sure George will give you a a great reference because you are an immaculate house keeper. I’m jure they will take you on a heartbeat. Chococolatechip was fixing a TV dinner for lunch. We chatted until it was ready.

I had a good time at the Coffee Social I had two cups of coffee and two glasses of chocolate milk. Lunch was ok. They served two pieces of chicken, sweet potatoes, mixed veggies, a dinner roll and a cup of pears. In was feeling pretty good and all set to have a third cup of coffee but I had a very big incontinence episode.

Once again I was ashamed and embarrassed. I finished my dinner roll. Quickly as possible I made it back to my room. I had a miserable afternoon because I sat in urine until two. I called for help several times but the aides were taking care of lunch trays I was having a major meltdown until the aides came in to put !e to bed and change my briefs.

I started to read my book America’s Unwritten Constitution The Precidents and Principles We Live By. I started reading Chapter 3:again. I hope to read this chapter by tonight. Like I said if I read a chapter a day I can finish this book by the time that Stephen King book comes out. I have thirteen days to reach this goal.

7:14p.m. I had macaroni and cheese plus a cup of chocolate ice cream for supper. Chocolatechip had already gone to bed so I started reading !u book. I finished reading Chapter 3 in my book America’s Unwritten Constitution. I have nine more to go.
