Thursday 8/10/23

5:17a.m. I was very sick yesterday because of nausea and arthritis pain.I stayed pin bed and slept most of the day. Last night wasn’t much better.d I almost fell out of bed. Aides wouldn’t help push me away from the edge. I tried pushing myself away but it hurt so much.  They finally changed my briefs and got me in !my chair at five.

I feel like shit this morning. Nothing seems right to me. Still having muscle spasms that hurt like hell. Today is going to be another bad one. 

7:03a.m. I slept in my wheelchair for a couple hours. I feel a bit better. I just had my coffee and orange juice. Also talked with Chococolatechip. She was upset about the bed bug situation. The main problem I think is she doesn’t know when they will spray her apartment. I think Chococolatechip is ready for the most part. She held up her end . Now it is up to the Housing Authority. 

It would be nice if she knew when they were coming. We both think this whole thing wasn’t handled right. The Housing Authority cannot seem to give a definite date as to when they would spray. Chococolatechip spent most of yesterday preparing. Kim Said it would be today or sometime next week. How can she get ready if  she doesn’t know the date?

8:32a.m. I am getting awake. I had two eggs and two pieces of cornbread for breakfast. Breakfast and coffee woke me up at last. I’m not exactly raring to go but I’m above the dirt. I could use another cup of coffee but that will have to wait for the social. I hope I get to go today. 

I’m in a fairly good mood. I haven’t experienced any muscle spasms in a while. I had a good breakfast plus the coffee.  I had my happy pills so I’m good to go. This might end up being a good day after that all. At least I don’t have to deal with bed bugs like Chococolatechip.

I really feel bad for her. Chococolatechip went through hell dealing with those frickin bed bugs. This time she cleaned her apartment from top to bottom.k She also got rid of a lot of stuff. She really worked hard in preparing for the exterminator. She said this is the last time. I cannot go through this again.  I don’t blame her one bit.

I glad I’m not in Overbrook Towers. I couldn’t handle the bed. bug problem anymore. I kept getting them in my last apartment. I lost three couches and two beds. I got very depressed because I had to throw out most of my stuff. This was one of many reasons why I ended up in a nursing home. 

10:24a.m. I made it to the Fiesta Room for the Coffee Social. They are having morning exercise now. But soon I’ll be drinking an extra cup of coffee. I’m still very tired and can use the caffeine boost.

1:08p.m. I’m back in my room.  I did a lot of reading so I had a good time.  I also had my share of snacks and coffee. Lunch was delicious. I had Sicilian beef, creamed potatoes, green beans, a dinner roll and jello for dessert. I herd from Chococolatechip. They are spraying her apartment today. She said that Healthways will put her up in a nice hotel and help with finances. We didn’t chat too long.The exterminator was coming. I’m glad she is getting much needed help.

I tried calling Chocolatschip when I got back. She must of left for the hotel. I then tried reaching her on her cell but that is impossible. I hope she will call sometime and I can hear the phone.

2:51a.m. I had a mini meltdown this afternoon. I was lying in urine and feces all afternoon. I finally got help around two. Aide came just in time before I really lost it . I was put in bed and changed by two. She did a very good job and was nice. I feel much better.

I have been reading my book The Law of the Land A Guided Tour of Our Constitutional Republic by Akhil Reed Amar I finished chapter 5 which was about Anthony Kennedy. I hope to read Chapter 6 to day. . It is entitled “In the Shadow of Brown v Board of Education.” This should be a very interesting  chapter.

I’m wondering how Chocolatschip is making out. I have been calling her cell but it isn’t picking up. She has been trying to call me according to my call log. But for some reason the damned phone isn’t ringing. She is no doubt in her hotel room. I hope she in a nice place and is enjoying a break from Overbrook Towers. I also hope she isn’t too mad at me. For some reason the phone does not ring when somebody calls.

Other than that I’m having a good one. I’m high and dry . I am enjoying a good book. I’m in a comfortable position in bed. My only problem is I miss talking to Chocolatechip on the phone.

4:57pm. I was chatting with Chocolatechip. The deal with Helthways about the hotel fell tgh. Needless to say she was pretty upset about it. I can’t say that I blame her. we chatted on Messenger for a few minutes. ,Then she had to go. I haven’t heard from her since. She was pretty tired. I am assuming she went straight to bed.

I have been doing a lot of reading. I finished Chapter 6 today. I hope to read chapter 7 tonight It is another short chapter.

Right now I’m waiting for supper. I ate a big lunch so I’m not sure I’ll eat anything.
