Wednesday 8/2/23
7:53a.m. I’m above the dirt. Actually I had a good night. The aides came in to change my brefs a few times. I slept well except for dreaming I joined the Mafia and became a hit man. Aides came in at 4:45 to get me oout of bed. But I still slept in my wheelchair until they served breakfast. I had toast and scrambled eggs plus coffee and orange juice
Breakfast and coffee finally woke me up. I called Chocolatschip. She had a bad night. Bed bugs were crawling all over her. Then somebody knocked on her door. She thinks it was Eddie the Moocher Then she got two weird phone calls. So she wasn’t too with it when I called. But she still got up and was doing her housework.
Chococolatechip talked briefly about the bed bug problem. She said she went to the office and complained to Kim. Kim said she will put Chococolatechip on the list. Kim also confessed that the Housing Authority has spent thousands of dollars in treating infected apartments They do not know what else they can do. We think they are passing the buck about this whole thing.
I hope I make it to the Coffee Social today. . Monday was cancelled and they kept me in bed Tuesday. I need the extra coffee and donuts fix. Life for me is not good without a lot of coffee.
10:04a.m. I’m not having a good morning. I’ve been sitting in urine since breakfast. I had a minor meltdown and ended up yelling . at the staff. I don’t like losing my temper but it got results. Lying in urine for over is enough to make anyone mad. Why do I have to go through this shit?
1:20p.m. I made it to the Coffee Social. I had a great time. I relaxed by reading my book The Constitution Today; Timeless Lessons for Our Era by Akhil Reed Amar. I had two coffees and two glasses of chocolate milk For lunch I had two pieces of chicken with gravy, sweet potatoes, mixed veggies, cornbread and a cup of pears for dessert. Lunch was delicious and put me in a much better mood.
I made my own way back to my room. I called Chocolatschip She seemed to be in much better spirits. Chococolatechip said she listened to some Catholic hymns and had a good cry. Both plus her meds put her in a better mood. She worked on a budget for August.Chocolatechip said she can afford that $25 Amazon gift card She wants me to have that new Stephen King book coming out in September.
I didn’t know what to say. Chococolatechip is a very kind and generous woman. Actually,I am torn with her generosity. On the one had Chococolatechip struggles to get through every month without bumming.i don’t want to put her ina financial hardship. I accepted the offer so long as she has everything she needs. Chococolatechip said it’s good so I guess it will be ok. Still, I can’t help but feel like another mooch.
6:35p.m I had a much better afternoon. I read my book The Constitution Today Timeless Lessons for Our Era. I started reading Chapter 6. The author discusses cases that deal with current culture wars. This makes a 28 day reading streak. I’m proud of myself. I hope to read more of this chapter tonight
I read until 3:30pm. The aides came to put me to bed I talked with Chococolatechip for the longest time on the phone Then they set rv supper. It wasn’t too bad. I had macaroni and cheese plus and orange sherbet. Supper didn’t make me too bloated allef Chocolatschip again and we talked until bedtime.
Well.Its back to my book. I got to study for the big test at West Liberty Liberty.
9:31p.m. I finished reading Chapter 6 tonight. Chapter ,7 is called Constitutional Anniversaries. It’s a short chapter, only fourteen pages. I don’t know weather to continue reading or stop I’m getting tired and don’t think I can concentrate. On the other hand the book is very interesting and hard to put down I think I’m going to co to use reading. I shall read until I drop.
Today ended on a very good note. Life is good!
