Monday 7/17/23

4:00p.m. I’m back!I haven’t been on here in a long time. One day I couldn’t get access to the site. I thought OD cancelled my account. Then I found out that a lot of people in the nursing home were reading me. I was afraid because I said some very nasty things about this nursing home I have been keeping an off line journal for a month and a half

But I started missing writing on here. I thought I’d give it another shot. Nothing much has changed. I still bitch about this place  The care has been shitty. But last night was an exception. The aide gave me a shower and  a shave. She also came in to check on me and change my briefs. I was not lying in urine half the night. 

I still do a lot of reading. My current book is America’s Constitution:A Biography by Akhil Reed Amar I love this author. I’m going to finish this book plus read three more he wrote. But Amar writes above me and is hard to understand. Still o think he is very interesting and is worth the extra effort. 

In this book Amar writes about the Constitution. I’m just starting on Chapter 6 which discuses Article III. I hope to finish this chapter tonight. 

6:00p.m. I didn’t eat my supper except for the cornbread. They served ham and pinto beans with spinach. I can’t stand neither one. I had my coffee and fruit punch. That little bit made me bloated. Perhaps I’ll have a pbj later on when my stomach settles.

I talked with Chocolate chip. She was pretty tired since she was up at four. Chococolatechip went on about Eddie the Moocher. He wanted her to fix him something to eat I think it was macaroni and cheese. Then he had the nerve to come back to borrow paper plates. Chococolatechip said she can’t help him out anymore this month. She is running low on food and supplies herself.

We talked for a a half hour about other subjects. They are going to have something called Medicaid Bingo. tomorrow. Chococolatechip thought about going but changed her mind. She has housework to do and two loads of laundry. By the time  Bingo will start she will be too tired. Besides those social events always leave abad taste in her mouth.

Well the day is almost over. I had a lot of coffee today so I’m still wired. I hope the coffee will keep me awake so I can read my book.
