The Golden Compass
This whole thing is driving me crazy!!!!
Christains are going insaine about this "anti-christian" movie, and it isn’t even anti-christian. It is anti-religion in general, so quick acting like it is directed directly at you.
I just read a bunch of sites with people fighting about this movie. I just wanted to jump through the screen and punch some of the people. Their biggest support was that athiest have no morals. Where did they get the proof of this? Just thinking it isn’t proof. I would say that most people kill for religious reasons, but I have no proof of this so I won’t. On one site the athiest kept getting bashed because they didn’t spell check. What does that have to do with anything!!!!
They kept saying how only in a christain home can a child be raised with good morals. All I got out of this was that a child must be threatend to burn for all eternity in order to behave.
They also say that the point in the movie is to kill god so people can have free will. The christains argue that god already gave us free will. Trying to not let people see a movie because it isn’t "good" doesn’t seem like free will to me. Shouldn’t I be the one to deside if I see this movie? It is my will after all.
I can understand religious people wanting to warn others like them, but why force everyone else to suffer?
They also keep saying that we are trying to shove "our ways" in their face. I didn’t see a big uprising when The Passion was in theaters. No athiest picketing about how we can’t let christains believe in this. All the athiest I know don’t care if the person next to them is religious.
I guess what I want to say is we leave you alone so leave us alone. You might be thinking about that one athiest that got in your face. Well I can think of at least 50 christains that have done the same to me. Just because they do it doesn’t meen you have to be like them.
P.S. I can’t get the spell checker to work. And bad spelling isn’t an athiest trait.
i agree with you on everything you said, i am atheist and i was raised in a christian family..so yea..fun times about that but i think people need to stop worrying about whats on the “big screen” and realize whats going on in their own lives..just my personal opinion

There actually was an uprising about the Passion being anti-sematic, but I think people just wanted something to gripe about. I don’t know about this movie, don’t know much about it nor have I seen it, but I am a Christian and don’t let this give us a bad name either…I’m sorry people got up in your face, and I hope you have a good night…

…random noter… Found you on the Front Page. Wow… I feel REALLY sorry for all of us whenever I hear ((or read)) about people being THAT close-minded and ignorant. *shakes her head* Morals have NOTHING to do with religion. It’s a matter of ethics, which is a school of philosophy, NOT theology. It never ceases to amaze me how many so-called Christians profess to believe in good will toall when their actions seem to suggest that “all” consists only of those who cower before their crosses. It’s sad really. Just like with any religion, the extreme elements are the minority, and the least educated in their own faith, and yet as they yell the loudest they come to define the religion as a whole. Don’t let them get under your skin. They’re the most poisonous that way. Besides, they’re really not worth it. Not at all. Let them shout and holler to holy Hell and back while the rest of us pray for laryngitis to set in soon. *grins* Thank you for writing this entry! Take care.
