truck tales
we have had to take our truck back and start doing this ourselves. the guy doing it hasnt been paying usertc etc etc, he has a million reasons why, but its just too much to believe anymore. he has made so many promises and hasnt kept any of them. so now me and hubby are going to try doing it ourselves. its taken us several weeks to get ready to get ready to go. we left thursday morning and got back last night and are both extremly exhausted.
80-90% of it is a breeze, but the rest is like, oh my god!!!!!!! and thats just because of having to do our pick up and deliveries is city areas. now thats not much fun at all trying to get that truck and trailor in those tight spaces. we got off track once, the first night, and we still arnt sure what we did wrong. we hit a detour around pittsburg, and i think we circled pittsburg a few times before we got on the right road. it was dark and that didnt help. we finally got a room like one am, and had to get up and leave by six the next morning.
dew was stressing too, cause he decided that was when he was going to quit smoking all together. he would get flustered and do crazy stuff, like once, when he needed to get over, i said he was clear, but instead of just getting over one lane, he went three and almost wiped out a car, i got real mad. he has to work on his communication skills, cause his sucks deep murky waters. he doestn listen or pay attention at all. at one point i told him he was the most unawares person i ever saw, and he grunted at me, but sorry its the truth. he is so used to ignoring me, but he is going to have to get over it and learn to pay more attention to me when i speak or do somthing. i would tell him somthing, then a few seconds later he would ask me, and im like, i just told you or showed you that, wernt you listening or paying attention at all, etc. very very very frustrating!!!!
then he likes to barrel in tight places. on the last drop off, he flew into the parking area, and almost took out a big light pole. he also doesnt seem to see brake lights going on in front of him either. there was several times, im like STOP, and he is like, what? im like, dont you see those red lights, they mean, people ini front of you are slowing down, or stopping!!!. once he said, no i wasnt looking. he also likes to drive faster than i would be in the rain and fog, and drives way to close to the people in front of us.
but all in all, it was pretty good i suppose concidering its our first time out together. there is alot we have to do to tweek what we are doing. im going to have to learn how to read maps alot better, we have a gps, but it doesnt always do what we think its supposed to be doing. thats what got us lost in pittsburg i think. im also going to have to find out what proper otr ettiquette is too. we sure dont want to piss those people off while driving.
dew got up today and figured out the money end of it, and we actually cleared like 420 bucks, but they are all com checks which means i wouldnt be surprised if we never get paid for those, cause they have to go through corey, and we still are owed like 2.000 from him. so thats the next big thing to deal with is getting an account so we can cash those checks ourselves. till then i told dew to only take on cod runs, that way we have the money in our hot little paws right then and there. we also need to get all our reciepts from corey, he gave us a sheet with the totaled numbers, but i have a hunch he is planning on claiming those expenses on his taxes. i told dew to get them, as im sure we have been paying for the other drivers snuff, pop, food and extra driving they have been doing with our truck. we looked at the gps they used, and there were lots of driving done to places that didnt have jobs attached to them. so it looks like they were using the truck for there own personal use as well.
so all in all things went better than we thought they would. now if we can get our money, that would be good. well im beat to the bones, and am going back to bed for a spell. i got some pics so ill try to post them later on. we ran parraell with the allegheny mountians for a long way coming home, that was neat.
well, im outta here, my body is soooooooooo stiff and sore its not funny. ill try to get back later on and read some, take care all, and see you soon
