Day 8 evening edition a little different
A little different for night’s edition what I’ve learned this week
1. I don’t know how to use a laptop when I go to comment on something I erase everything half the time.
2. Most important I don’t know my son, was too busy making a living to be a full-time dad
3. I have no idea how to raise an 11-year-old boy that thinks he is going on 30 and carries the weight of the world on his shoulders
4. can’t cook are do laundry
5. have to learn to pick the battles that matter
6. Learn to be patient somethings you can’t force
7. I’m not good at explaining things on here or in real life
8. I don’t have to understand everything Chance feels just support it. (that’s a hard one I have to make sense of things)
Guess that list could go on. Went at it a little different today Chance got home
Me: how was your day
Chance: it was school what do you think
Me: you want to help me put out hay are hangout at the house while I do it
Chance: I drive the tractor you cut wrap.
Me: that’s fine
No questions about anything going on, no talking about this mess just feeding cattle checking calves just ranch stuff. Chance rode buck bareback to the barn. He smiled the whole time. I know we have a lot to deal with all these issues and this new life just have to figure out when.
Chance: what are you going to poison us with tonight
Me: beef stew in the crock pot
Chance: I’m game if you are
We ate it wasn’t bad too much tomato taste
Chance: Dad it was the best you cook so far
Me: thank you
Chance: Dad the bar ait that high, so don’t get a big head
My kid is at his best or worst not sure which. Learned I’m not smarter than a 6th grader helped with homework hope the teacher takes my help into consideration.
Most everything on that list will come with time and practice. In regards to #2- I would talk to him and tell him this… tell him you want to know whatever he is willing to share and when he’s willing to share it. Then give him space but continue everything you’re doing and it will grow into better communication.
I am seriously impressed with how well you’re doing. Seriously.
@scarlettlee honestly only when chance is around I’m mad hurt scared confused my mind never stops Chance intimidates the crap out of me I second guess every decision other than that it all good as chance would say
