Chance and Casey got back around 6 pm I was in the horse barn putting out feed and hay
Me: ya’ll have a good time
Casey: it was so so much fun
Chance: just gave me that look of Dad just don’t.
Me: where did ya’ll ride
Chance: The creek and canyon
Me: ya’ll ride the whole time
Chance: Dad
Me: I thought you may have shown her the cave.
Casey: That was cool!!!! Chance said the drawing was Native American, is it? we didn’t go in very far he didn’t want to get his sock wet
Chance: I just wanted to show her the drawing
Me: It was fine It’s cool to see, did ya’ll look for arrowheads, unsaddle and put the horses up, I’ll get the truck and we can go eat
Chance: no I didn’t know we could
Me: Buddy this is our home, you don’t have to ask about every little thing, kids explore where they live.
Chance: Oh mom did let go that far
Me: I’m not your mom
I felt more like a chauffeur than a dad, but it was fun listening to them talk. Dinner went well, I didn’t get the look once. We dropped Casey off on the way home
Chance: dad you didn’t embarrass me too much Thanks.
Me: I’m glad you had fun we can go to the city tomorrow if you want
Chance: Dad don’t this weekend has been good, please don’t start
Me: I wasn’t trying to mess anything up.
He was out like a light as soon as he laid down on the couch, I hope he had a day he didn’t think about his mom all the time. I just want to sit and watch him sleep and know he is safe I still can’t believe she left him home alone at night and just left
