Couldn’t Resist

I’m not the kind of person that spends money on things I want, especially when it’s pricey. I never go clothes shopping until my t-shirts aren’t wearable, till my jeans have holes I can’t ignore anymore and I wear the same shoes every day till they fall apart. When I finally have to go shopping I never buy more shirts than what I’m getting rid of. I don’t see things on tv or in stores and buy them right away like the newest phone’s, big tv’s, etc.

Today however, was the exception and part of me feels guilty, but a bigger part of me is just too damn excited to care. I finally bought (gasp!) a rowing machine 🙂 Although I enjoy group exercise classes I refuse to buy gym memberships because working out at home is very do-able and so much cheaper. I even made my own TRX system a while back for under $10. I have a balance ball but I got that years ago as a gift (and even still they aren’t a ton of money), and I looked around for a while till I found resistance bands on sale before getting them. So why did I buy an expensive rowing machine? Well, I’ve wanted one for a really long time. It’s low impact compared to treadmills/running on the street (which is hard for my ankles as is), and the one I got was on sale for $200 less than the regular price, it’s the kind I wanted and had great reviews from multiple sources and I was able to get it shipped to the store for free. Normally I would have waited and slowly saved for it but I didn’t know how long the sale would go on and I have the money to splurge on it while still having my bills covered for April.

I do feel a bit guilty since as I said I don’t tend to just go out and buy things, especially expensive things but I’m so happy that I’ll finally have something I’ve wanted for a really long time. I can’t wait for it to come next week and set it up and start using it right away. Another plus, it’s compact which means I still have plenty of space in the room to workout in other ways. Then again, I guess I’d have room no matter what I got since I have absolutely nothing in the spare room expect two boxes and a lamp!
