You know it

giveaway of the day

This weekend was busy – I don’t even remember what we did Saturday (besides bowling in the morning, then getting Edwin’s new glasses after that). Sunday, however, was full: Church in the morning, after which our family did Hospitality hour: Setting up coffee & punch, and I’d made Black bean brownies to give out as a snack. They were an OVERWHELMING hit! After church, we raced up the street to a bowling alley where Boo was signed up to be in her FIRST tournament! That was fun – except for the part where, just after her 1st game of 3, Mom called my cell. She told me she’d just heard from Pop’s AL nurse, that he’d fallen and had a gash over his eye. They suggested she take him to a walk-in clinic to get it stitched (!!!) – and when she politely reminded them that she couldn’t possibly handle him like that, they asked her what she wanted them to do. She said to send him to the ER, and she’d meet him there.  She told me she’d be okay, and I shouldn’t worry. Of course, I did. After Boo finished her 3rd game, Edwin dropped me at the ER and he & Boo went home. I stayed with Mom & Pop, and he had his gash glued together, just like his ear when it was cut open. We were there from 4 to about 8:30p (Mom got there around 2p), when he went back to his AL home.

Monday morning I woke up with a nasty headache and stuffy nose…so I stayed home. Tuesday the nose wasn’t stuffy, but the headache was still there. I stayed home again, and watched Molly the Barn Owl sit on her eggs, and hatch out two babies. 🙂 Fun stuff, you all ought to try it! If you click on this link, it’ll take you to her Main page. Click on her picture/cam live feed, and it’ll take you to a page where you can watch the live feed and chat in a moderated chat room, as long as you sign in first. Just make sure you click on the heading called "Chat" and not "Social Stream" – Social stream is NOT moderated, and NOT suitable for watching/reading with family around. This morning I felt better, and so I drove downstate to pick Mattie up & take her to the hospital – she’s having a hysterectomy today. Now Boo & I have just had breakfast, and we are preparing to go to the library to pick up the 2nd book in the "Percy Jackson & The Olympians" series, called The Sea of Monsters. We finished The Lightning Thief yesterday, and Boo’s beside herself waiting for the next installment. 😀 After that, we might hit a consignment store for new jeans for me & Mom, and then I’ll pick my brother up from Dialysis. I was thinking about knitting tonite, but as I haven’t slept the last two nights at ALL, I’m kinda beat…I think we’ll stay home.

So, that’s where we are today. How are YOU?
