It’s been a while guys…
So I went back home to visit last month and to baptize my goddaughter. It was so nice going back home. As you know…the weather here is brutally hot and humid and adapting has not been easy. As soon as we landed I stepped off the airplane and oh my gosh that coastal breeze is just unmatched. It felt lovely. It was warm and breezy and perfect. I was so happy to see my momma and my brother. ❤️ My flight to get to CA was a mess. I flew southwest and I got to the airport around 10 for my 12 o’clock flight. The flights were delayed and they kept delaying. So at 11 PM! Yes, PM I went back and the lady said “oh my well there aren’t any flights for you” so at this point I’m just super tired so she finds me another flight for the next day and they got me a room at a hotel; which was really nice. She was very apologetic but I said no worries it’s not your fault and she was so happy that I wasn’t yelling and cussing at her she said I was a breath of fresh air since the whole day for her was people getting really angry with her for delayed flights. I was really calm, understanding and breezy and she said it’s uncommon at an airport. We laughed and I just said it’s all good 👍🏽 so that’s why she got me a room and she gave me vouchers for future stays too. I’m grateful. The next day I flew home. Anyway when I got picked up we went straight for some good eating! I got delicious Thai boba tea, popusas, Mexican Popi popsicles, pan dulce daaaayum. It was bomb. Then we hung out at my mommas house. 😌 My brother wasn’t feeling well so a day later we drove him to the hospital. Then I got in trouble for trying to sneak in to see him. 🤷🏻♀️ I got in eventually but it was only to say goodbye because I had to leave that morning. I hope I can go back so I can see him and we can all hang. I got to visit with my in laws and I got all the hugs! 🥰
Im becoming a little more comfortable here I guess. (I say that now, but something happens and I just cannot lol) When I was home I was surprised and maybe even annoyed at how crowded it was everywhere. But I was still happy to go to the beach, drive the coast and have all my favorite things. I drove by our old home which I loved so much. I was looking for my neighbors cars so I could say hi but everyone was probably working because I didn’t see them. Next time!! I enjoyed hanging with my mom and doing some shopping like we use to. She told me she was ready to move to where we end up and that was music to my ears. ❤️ I told my husband this and he said great! She can move in with us if she wants which is nice to hear him say that and to know that he’s totally ok with that. She likes her space though, but I’m glad he’s cool with it if it were to need to happen.
Anyway the baptism was beautiful! My goddaughter is just perfect! It was so nice to see Michelle and everyone. I saw my old co-workers, I missed them! Had breakfast with my old boss/my friend. I missed her.
I was going through old posts online and pictures and I use to go running a lot in the morning around 4am and it was nice and quiet. I tried to go running here but it is so hot all of the time! Just walking down the driveway has you panting for air and this is 24/7. I started doing Zumba in the house and some hiit workouts in the garage. I need to get moving man. My work babies voted me as the best employee for the quarter. I was surprised. I got the read the votes and my favorite was one that said “she treats us like humans and not just another body, she checks in with each one of us at the beginning of each shift just to see how our day is going how we’re feeling if we need to get something off our chest if we’re ready to tackle the shift and that kind of care will make any employee move mountains.” It was really nice to read all of the nice things.
I missed my husband so much while I was gone! Him and our fur babies. 🥰
