Bliss

Well the first 2 weeks at home has been complete bliss.

Miss Maddy Grace is growing like a weed and becoming more alert and aware of us with every day. She was born at 8lbs, 6oz and came home at 7lbs, 14oz.. at her weight check yesterday, she was already 8lbs 10oz!! I guess breastfeeding is definitely going well, then. She’s such an easy baby, I couldn’t really ask for anything more. She’s so calm and really only fusses when she’s hungry- doesn’t even cry. Breastfeeding has caused me to feel an incredible bond with her.. it makes me sad that it didn’t work out with Gabe. I was never really for it, I wanted to try it for both my kids- but this experience has definitely turned my head around on it. It also makes you feel amazing to know that you and only you have sustained this child. People have also commented on how they think the initial bonding right after birth & the breastfeeding have caused Maddy to be a much calmer child. I’m not getting a ton of sleep, she’s up about every 2 1/2-3 hours but usually goes back to sleep almost immediately. I’m so in love.

Gabe has adjusted really well to having his baby sister around. He loves giving her kisses and covering her up(even when it’s way too hot, lol). I really didn’t know how he would be, but once again.. couldn’t ask for more. It’s hard to believe he’s already 2 1/2 years old. It feels like just yesterday he was my little baby. He is just an amazing little boy.

I have told JP a few times now that I’m already ready for #3. Going from 1 to 2 was a breeze and I’m absolutely loving my kids. I’m only off for 10 more weeks and it feels as if time is flying by already. We’re trying to figure out something, maybe a different job for JP, that would allow me to only work part time or not return at all.

I mean, really..who could wake up to this and NOT be happy?

Awww, that is a neat picture!! Glad to hear that Gabe is a great big brother! Breastfeeding is so neat and I loved just looking down at my babies and having them look at me while nursing, such a neat thing! Have a great weekend! >^..^<

What a sweet pic!! I hope my 2 year old does as well with his new baby brother as Gabe is doing with his sister!!

that’s so good to hear that she’s calm. my sister-in-law is trying for another baby with a 2 1/2 year old already and I’m sincerely hoping the same for her.
