short end of the karma stick

Can’t say I believe in karma; however, today’s incident could provide the potential for karmic review. My spouse was berating me for not opening the door fast enough for him. He was cleaning and greasing his tools and he couldn’t open the door. I just listened to his rant and kept my mouth shut. He went outside to move the coals for the barbecue and the next thing I know, I hear a yelp/cry of pain. I go outside and my spouse had stepped on a live coal. Why wasn’t he wearing shoes when operating the Weber, you might ask? Good question. I don’t know. Anyway he now has a huge blister on the heel of his foot. But I’m not fully convinced of the whole karma thing because I now have to play nurse and maid.
