There are very few hard and fast rules I require of my partner.  In the summer, never wear your underwear outside.  This is not a difficult request. It is more of a respect request. My spouse should be thinking my wife hates it when I walk around in the front yard in my underwear. I will put on a pair of shorts before I go outside because I respect her boundaries. Do I care if people see him in his underwear? Not really. But my upbringing just will not tolerate wearing underwear outside. Not acceptable. It is the visual fingernail on the chalkboard. There are a million other things that are way more important and valid, but I don’t care. The minute I see that old man walking around in his underwear outside, I become ballistic. Since I don’t like being told what to do (childish, I know), I generally keep my opinions to myself. But the outside underwear thing is a line that must not be crossed. ANo offense Hanes, but you are not outdoor material.
