Turning lemons into melodies
And one day she decided to quit fighting her irrational thoughts and just make music with them. Should someone laugh, well, it’s about her friend. Should someone smile, well, it’s about her. Should someone cease to care and just enjoy the tunes, marry me.
And as it turns out, fate has put it’s seal of approval on this plan. How so? Once upon a time, a sad, lonely girl with a broken heart that wouldn’t quit following her around went to an amazing rock show. (Spain Colored Orange…Houston based. Check them out! http://www.myspace.com/spaincolouredorange ) Being a musician herself, the rhythmic cries and chordal woes of guitarists and other such strange creatures typically failed to impress her. But this night, she basked in the color of the sounds slamming together. She became so engrossed in the melodic tangelings that she hardly noticed the man beside her nervously trying to edge his way into a hello. Oh. Right. She was by herself.
Put on the entertainment hat.
Tune out euphoria.
With slightly sinking spirits, she chatted with said man while the glorious tunes melded to the back of her brain. But wait! He was a DJ! The interruption of her glorious musical moment was not altogether wasted. The conversation was pleasant and interesting. But still, it went nowhere….except out the door, with the girl’s credit card safely tucked behind the bar, as was standard procedure for said girl (When oh when will I learn to quit opening tabs?). And, so, the night was over. But….
Apparently, this sullen girl with her sparkly moment had made an impression on the boy, as he somehow found her online, listened to her music, and asked her to be on his radio show. And she lived happily ever after with her voice encrypted in streamed air waves. The end.
All I have to do is find the means to get a DECENT EP together and let him pick a couple tracks to play on air. My half-assed recording attempts are not NEARLY radio quality. But what fun! I’m totally ready for another adventure:)
