A small hello before bed

This week I’ve been doing one work day one off day and I don’t know if I like it. Today was rough at work. Short staffed (like always) but also my only staff went home sick lol – I said ok can you girls hold it down please so I can take my lunch then when I got back one girl was off – they said yes then 4 min into my lunch one comes and says i don’t feel good I’m going home. 😭 So I said fine and clocked back in because I gotta keep on keeping on.
So today I woke up and cleaned my house and did all the laundry then I got a workout in and let me tell you, I haven’t worked out since we moved. I’ve been mopey since October. But now we have our stuff here and it’s unpacked and I’ve been ordering stuff and just trying to make it a home while also knowing we can’t afford things. So decorating while on a super tight budget is difficult but that’s ok. The only thing left to buy is…a couch. Sigh – Why are couches so dang expensive?!?! Anyway so yea, we also need to paint. These house flippers decided to say “fuck it, just leave the walls primed and unfinished the buyers can suck it” so we need to paint the whole damn place. I think I want to stick to nice neutral colors just because it brings peace to my mind and comfort and it just looks nice and clean. I ordered a small coffee table because it was on clearance at target and one small floor light with table for the bedroom. When I have enough cash I’ll order a second one for my side lol. Little by little, but I’m not going crazy on buying stuff because Dave also wants to move in a year – which – HOORAY! It’s nice here but the bugs just isn’t working for either of us. The other night I woke up and went to open the bedroom door because I wanted to turn on the AC and a cockroach fell on my head! I think it was on top of the door because I checked the ceiling and everything but anyway it was like 3ish am and I absolutely screamed very loud I was freaking out yelling in a panic “David check my head please check it!!!” He was frantically checking my hair then he saw it on the floor and took care of it. I SERIOUSLY CANNOT. Then a few nights later Dave got up for work so I got up for bathroom and I turned the light on and saw a HUGE palmetto but on the wall so again I yelled for Dave and he came running and it even startled him and this fucking thing went behind the vanity mirror so he’s trying to bang on it so it would crawl back out but it didn’t so I yelled rip it out of the wall and he did and there was a big hole behind it so he sealed it and went to work. I never went back to sleep – I couldn’t. I turned all the lights on and watched tv.
ANYWAY- I broke a broom the other day after taking an hour or so gathering courage because there was another one in the living room and Dave wasn’t home. I put my dogs in a safe place and stood there scared then I got mad and just started swinging with the broom yelling this is my house!!! It wasn’t big though so my courage isn’t real. It was a small one. I’m moving on.

I want to hang flowers out front and put some potted flowers out there too. I don’t want to use the flower beds because I don’t want to dig and all that. I have a nice long porch and I’d like to make it look pretty. We have a small bistro sized table and chairs out there and I like to sit out there with the dogs when I’m off and we are waiting for Dave to come home. Back home I liked to decorate for every holiday especially Christmas. I try to go all out for Christmas because it just looks so pretty. So here I want to decorate for the 4th of July.

We’re going home in May, then my moms said she would come in June for a few days if possible. My brother is doing a bit better now. I’m happy about that. His best friend passed a few days ago and he is heartbroken. We all are, he was always at the house. He will definitely be missed.

George and Rou are beginning to get along finally. Things still get crazy when she tries to take his bone or his favorite toy or when Dave picks her up but he plays with her now and all that good stuff. 👏🏼 They’re so cute!
