Controlling Dreams
There are times when dreams that you are having are rather unpleasant. Lately, I have found that, at times, I can recognize that what is occurring is, in fact, a dream … and I can stop it. Last night I dreamt that I got up from my computer, in the wee hours of the morning, was quite drunk, and had in my hands two glasses of Scotch. I stumbled and spilled one of the glasses onto a chair. My rational brain concluded that I never have two glasses of Scotch at one time. It was, therefore, a dream. There was no need, therefore, of grabbing a towel to sop up the spilled glass.
Subsequent to that, I was sleeping on my right side, and our beloved cat, Fabs. lay between myself and my wife. In a segment of a dream, a great explosion occurred between the two of us, exactly where Fabs had been. I woke up with a start! Fabs was still there, fast asleep. He had heard nothing. It had all been a dream. Recently I have had dreams in which dire circumstances present themselves. Increasingly. I have been able to step back from the dream and call in to question as to what I am experiencing is or is not a dream. At times, my dreams require that (to be continued)
