Pathetically Pissed.
I have made an account for myself on talenhunter.com. I was really excited because this may be a way to help me get somewhere…hopefully.
Well anyway, there’s this contest with shoutouts (basically you post your picture with a comment and people rate you. yes it’s shallow. haha). I did a shoutout and when I saw the rates I was getting I almost cried. Every number down the page was a 5. One 3 too… So I went to check out the other people and I noticed that the highest rate you can get is a 5! That made me feel sooo much better. Eventually I had a message from a woman named Michelle Robinson and she said she wanted to talk to me about casting for the new Pirates movie. YES, JOHNNY DEPP. You can imagine how excited I was! I love Johnny Depp, he’s delicious, lol. So I went to click the reply button and the site told me I had to buy an upgrade to respond to messages! Jesus, I found something new to hate.Well I don’t have the money to pay every month for a membership on the site and I’m totally bummed. I wanted to respond to her! Especially when I saw that she messaged me twice! And then just today I got another message from Coca Cola telling me they liked my picture and wanted me to try a commercial testing/audition sort of thing and they wanted me to respond asap. Ahhhhh, I would give anything to have enough money, or hell, a wonderful person who would sponsor me for a while so I could get back to these people. Who knows, some day when I make it somewhere, I will totally hook-up the person who helped me get noticed. 😉
Too bad I don’t know anyone who could sponsor me. 🙁
And yeah, my sister did tell me it could be a scam. Perhaps I’m just too hopeful to believe it?
Here’s the pic I had: </p
Probably is a scam, but you never know – when you grandfather stepped off the train in Maryland on his way home after WWII a man walked up to him, handed him a Coke and said drink this, he did, the guy took his picture, and a month later it was a national ad for them. At least share the pic you posted! if you don’t want to post it here email it! ajsmith317@yahoo.com

It sounds awful scammy. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but it seems unlikely that agents for these places like the new pirates movie or Coke are prowling a website when they’ve probably got plenty of other tried-and-tested ways to get their actors. Sowwy. 🙁

Yeah… I’d have to agree. The whole thing smells like a scam. Most agents and the like in any industry do not do the whole “pay to talk to me” bit… they only do that when it’s their main source of income, which of course means… yeah. But if acting is your dream, then by all means, pursue it. Stranger things have happened, and no one should regret not pursuing their dreams and ambitions.
