I’m an entrepreneur
I’m so painfully thrilled! I am now a Mary Kay consultant!
My mother used to sell MK when I was really small and she stopped when I reached the end of elementary school. Well now it’s my turn and I am soooo excited, like, you don’t even know. I’m 18 and an entrepreneur! How sweet is that?
My main goal is to get a car. To do that you’ve got to have at least 5 people sign under you so I’m workin’ on that; the only problem is that most of my friends are too young to do it. I’m one of the oldest in my class, ugh. But I’m gonna work hard to do it and just pray that God brings people to me who want to earn a bit more cash. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow as a person. I know it may sound cheezy, but have you ever wanted to be so happy? Think about it, has there been a moment in your life when you just need someone positive around you who cares about you to help you with what you’re going through? That’s what these women do for each other. I went to a few of the meetings and I am so sold on this. I just thirst for someone around me who isn’t going to bring me down. People that will make me happy and feel better about myself; and for these women, it’s what they do! They sell products that make people look and feel beautiful.
I’m in this because I know that it will make me happy and develop me as a person. And by doing this, I learn what it’s like to handle large sums of money and I get to meet new people! Plus, these women (and men since there are mens products) will feel good about themselves. Who doesn’t want that?
On another note, I got a tremendous compliment from my theater teacher today. She asked me to cold-read a few lines for our auditions. I wasn’t auditioning for these two characters but I went ahead and read them thinking she just tossed out someone to fill in the empty pockets of words. As it turns out, she kept me after class to ask me if I would be upset were she to cast me as someone I hadn’t asked for. The reason this is peculiar is because she was telling the whole class that just because we were auditioning for a part doesn’t necessarily mean we will get it; so when she told me this I was surprised. Why would she ask me? She goes on to say that one character she had me read was supposed to be read with an air of class. She felt like I was the only one in the class who could do that! The character was meant to be a snobby woman who changes her heart at the end of the one-act. On the other hand, she also said she is thinking of casting me as one of the other women who is kind-hearted, elderly, and absolutely adorable in my opinion. I’m really excited that she thinks I have the potential to play either end of the spectrum, isn’t that great? Goodness…I’m so proud of myself.
Well guys, Mr. Carpal Tunnel is knockin’ on my door so it’s time for me to end now.
Wish me luck on my business and my one-act (which is in November).
Good Luck! That’s really cool about selling MK 🙂

Acting is great fun. That’s all I did for my elective classes in college. It’s always nice… to step out of your skin and be someone else. Especially if you’re not overly fond of yourself at times. Good luck on the Mary Kay business, though. Always nice to make some money on the side 🙂
