An OSI Model for Social Interaction
I’m working on a theory that relates the OSI model to the human experience. I might end up going with the TCP/IP model as it is simpler and still breaks it down into subcategories.
- PROBLEM: Communication is not functional on this planet.
- HYPOTHESIS: A crisis of meaning causes people to fight over symptoms when they would probably agree that the underlying causes they support are aligned
- METHOD FOR CONSIDERATION: It is our working hypothesis that the social contract should be expanded to include a working API from each participant in society, and an affirmation that the feedback we share will be as accurate and as unprocessed as possible.
- DEFINITION OF A WORKING SYSTEM: In a system where communication is unfettered, the best idea should win. This does not preclude the system trying to stop the conversation; we must assume the culture will defend itself.
1. First layer, the physical layer, would almost have to be emotional; we’ve been running under the tested hypothesis that the emotions are flawlessly authentic IFF one recognizes the mech warrior syndrome. WTF is the mechwarrior? For another day but it is a theory to understand why we overreact to current situations; we know we carry baggage, I found how to unpack it.2. Second layer, the link layer, then is obviously communication, in which the obvious link structure is st up with a handshake, in this case we presume Trust is the secret variable. Trust as the hidden variable is both self-similar to other protocol standards and is anecdotally correct, as well as found in Carnegie’s book. Now, comes the analogy to how MAC addresses actually work, and the limitations of this model thus far:::The datalink layer is often thought of as a single entity, since the type of medium almost defines the protocol, and so it can easily be abstracted into a single layer. The TCP/IP model does this, and I reserve the right to compress further, but I think humans need all seven layers. I know I do. I am a seven-layer dipshit for sure. So, the MAC address is a physical address on the wire, it is the NCO of the telecommunications world, if you will, where the rubber meets the road. In Tor, think of the Exit nodes, in blockchain think of the outlandishly named Oracle. She better have cookies, yo.The true beauty, if you ask me, happens at these two layers, because of the most brilliant trick in addressing, that of reserving the first and last address in the block to mean something special. Think of it like the emergency broadcast address of the network, and that is what it is called, the broadcast address. The last address in the block, often .255, is used in a data link segment to show that EVERYONE should look in the message. It is a broadcast. The first address is the network address. So, the beauty lies in the fact that they reserved both Alpha and Omega to be used with pure intent. But the functional beauty of the system is in the speed now available with regards to the old token ring. Now the Media Access Card, which is half addressed by a code identifying the manufacturer, and half addressed by the manufacturer to identify their cards. Each MAC only opens what is addressed to it, and so the speed of the internet was born. Broadcasts then were quite specific and so everything had to comply, it was the protocol, like a social contract that cannot be broken.Like a blockchain smart contract, but that is for another day
