- I am stubborn
- I am a COCONUT and I am proud to be one!
- I live in Cape Town South Africa
- I am a proud All Blacks Rugby Supporter
- I love having money and spending it
- My Xhosa name means Smile #Ncumisa and I have been told I have a big, beautiful smile
- I am overweight and even though I have tried many ways to loose weight I haven’t quite given it my all

- My music taste is everywhere…I love Rock, Soul, Israeli music (Even though I don’t fully understand), I love Hip Hop and even Opera music too
- My eyes are brown
- I can only speak 1 South African language fluently and can pick up on a few others but generally I only speak 1 South African language…so that is 1/11 (that is bad) I passed Afrikaans in matric, and I understand and can kinda speak Xhosa and Zulu is very similar to Xhosa so I guess you can say I speak 4 out of 11 South African languages. (still bed)
- I was in a car accident when I was 18 years old, and even though I still have my life I sometimes to feel like a lost a lot because of that accident.
THIS IS VERY HARD…thinking of things about myself….
13. at the age of 11 I started growing a few grey hairs…people have always said it was a sign of wisdom
14. I used to bite my nails…and sometimes still do…but I like having long, painted nails…
15. I have black hair
16. I wear glasses and sometimes I wear contacts too.
17 I have had an operation on each of my ears. Because of the accident I was in, the bone/tunnel from my ear lobe to my eardrum was knocked out of place so it was hard for me to hear….I didn’t even know this for about 3 or so years after the accident…so anyway I had to have an op in each ear to fix this…and make my hearing better…I used to lip read a lot.
talking about ops…
18. I had an eye op last year. Because of the accident I lost focus in my eyes so I often would go squint and see double. At first the idea of having an eye op freaked me out, so I refused one…so I trained my eyes to focus and not go squint so often and I stopped seeing double….but then last year I realized I was going squint often…and I didn’t know this, I would just get weird looks from people…I don’t get how people can sometimes notice something and not say anything…so when my husband would pick up on it often I decided that it was time I had the op on my left eye. Later this month or next I must test to see if I need to have the op in my right eye…I don’t think so.
19. I used to be an Olympic swimmer….that is a lie. When I was about 12 that is what I trained to be…but I realized I was just kidding myself…I would never be that good
20. I can play the marimba. Learnt to play it in High School…and since I haven’t played it since then I am not so sure I can still now….I am sure it is like riding a bike and once you can do it you can always do it, right.
talking about riding bikes…
21. I cannot ride one unless it is a stationery gym bike.
22. I love CHOCOLATE…well besides chocolate with nuts and white chocolate or dark chocolate…or chocolate with fruit in it, besides raisins…and I really don’t like liquor chocolates
23. I call my biological mom by her first name…and I have done this since I could start talking. There is only one time that I called her mom, and that was a few years ago when she had a brain tumor removed (BH it was benign) and I was sitting in hospital at her bed and she was sleeping….and I called out to her and told her that I lover her.
24. I intend to convert to Judaism next year! And I am pretty excited about that
25. I can drive and own my own car…although I really think it is time that I get a new one….just don’t know what car
26. I love being pampered…but I hate having all the attention on me…but love it when things are done for me….like waxing…manis…pedis….back massages…hair done….
27. As a teenager my friends and I would sneak into clubs and get served alcohol
TALKING ABOUT ALCOHOL….
28. When my oldest sister turned 18 and I was about 7; she had a house party and she got me
She mad ‘Jello-shots’ and some how a tray or few ended up in my hands and then in my stomach. In the pictures we have of the party, you will see a little black girl with a huge smile and eyes rolling. Apparently I complained about having a sore stomach the whole night.
29. I have met a Queen…when I was about 10 I met the Queen of Denmark.
30. I apparently snore when I sleep….but I don’t believe that!!
So……what’s a coconut?
@tigerhawk – so funny you don’t know what that is….and that out of everything I said you query that.
So coconuts 🥥 are BROWN on the outside but WHITE on the inside. Basically it is a derogatory term used to insult a black person who “acts” like a snobby white person.
When I got to high school, I got promoted to an “Oreo” 😜
@ncumisa – LOL @ “Oreo”. Is that because you got sweet in the middle?
I’d never heard that term before, so…yeah, I’m not exactly up on all the slang that exists all over the world. 😜
And here I guess I would have thought the white on the inside would be more flaky than snobby…lol
@tigerhawk – glad I can make you laugh. It is great that I can laugh about it now, but as a kid it wasn’t a fun thing to walk around primary school and hear the whispers.
Naa I wouldn’t say “whites” are flaky. You also got to remember that I was born just when Apartheid was ending and I live in a time where race is a very hot topic still.
@ncumisa – Well, when I say flaky, I meant that real life coconuts are flaky on the inside. But I know a ton of white people who are flaky as hell anyway…lol
Warning Comment
I’m glad you found a religious path that makes you content and happy. You’re intending to convert to Judaism next year. How exciting!
