Global Warming

I believe that everyone knows what global warming is….we’ve been hearing about it a lot lately. It’s all over the news….Governer Arnold Schwarzenneger is trying to clean California’s air and Clinton has his Global Initiative trying to improve four different sects (animals, global warming, racial relations, and pollution – maybe, can’t remember). We have heard about it, but that doesn’t mean anyone knows exactly what it means or how it will effect us. Global warming is not only an effect of the suns UV Rays, but humans are a major factor in this….

There is a huge hole in the ozone that was created mainly, in part, by humans. Fumes from car exhaust, CFC’s from aerosol cans, and other factors just cause this hole te become bigger. The pollutants also create greenhouse gases, which cause the air inside the ozone layer to become increasingly warmer. Along with greenhouse gases, the hole in the ozone layer allows more harmful UV Rays from the sun to come onto earths atmoshpere, which causes warming of the earths atmoshpere; global warming.

What I don’t understand is why people don’t do more to preserve this earth that they are living on. I always see people just throw their trash out onto the road instead of holding onto it for a few seconds until they can get to a trash can. I can understand the want and need to drive a car to get somewhere, but if you cut down on idling you can greatly decrease the amount of pollutants you put into the air. Styrofoam, you wouldn’t think that would be harmful to the earth, but it is not biodegradable (breaks down) and when it is burned it puts out CFC’s, which are a great contributer to the hole in the ozone layer.

Sorry to preach, but I don’t get it. It’s your planet and we are the only thing it has for protection.
