Babies….

Everyone… I have an announcment to make.

I’m having babies.

Today I discovered a nest of eggs being closely guarded by my bristlenose catfish. I’m EXTREMELY excited about this and have been researching and pondering the little tuckers’ future.

The eggs should hatch in about 4-5 days but they will still kind look like eggs for a few more days and then they will loose their yolky surrounds and start swimming freely. so in about 10 days I should have a little brood of bristlenose babies munching on just about anything they can find in the tank.

I’m a little concerned about whether the other fish in the tank might eat them, but I haven’t found any comments on website about what sort of fish might pray on them and which will leave them alone. I got mostly small tetras… The only guy I’m worrying about is my flying fox. He’s scavenger and might think that bristlenose fry looks tasty.

Anyway its getting really late and I wanna get some more fish watching done before I go to sleep.

Still haven’t found a place to live… maybe next week.
