Party time
Yesterday Marty had a small party with his best friends and their spouses. It was originally planned to be at his friend’s house but he didn’t have his portable ramps so he could get up on his friend’s patio. So instead he suggested they come to his house. I decided that I’d let myself eat what was there and not worry so much about it. I haven’t had a splurge day yet so I figured it was OK. I didn’t eat large quantities of the food but I did eat it. I had some tortilla chips with Taco dip… Yummy! Haven’t had that in years! I had 1 very skinny small brownie and 2 small twice baked potatoe skins with cheese, bacon and sour cream. I only drank my water with lemon all night. So even for it being a splurge day I took it easy.
Marty’s friends were really nice and easy to get along with for the most part. His 2 friends though are very racist and homophobic which I detest! It was so hard listening to their comments and not saying anything but Marty warned me about them beforehand so I held it in. His one friend’s wife kept going on and on throughout the night about how great I was and that she was so happy I was in his life. She was very nice and her twice baked potatoe skins were amazing!
They all drank ALOT! Every hour or so Marty asked me to fill the shot glasses for them. His friends after the 3rd round said they didn’t drink like they used to now that they’re older but Marty still insisted on shots at least 2-3 more times. Marty drank so much last night that come 8:45 when I was trying to get him ready to come in the house Ave take care of him so I could go home he couldn’t even work his electric wheelchair. He was saying goodbye to his friends when suddenly he went lifeless! I recognized it as a seizure right away but it was lasting so long that it scared me and I went and woke Lilly up since she trained to be a nurse. She came out and said that yes that was a seizure and that when he drinks that badly this sometimes happens. He finally came to a bit and finished his goodbyes then me and Lilly tried to get him more coherent so we could get him inside. It took awhile and she finally had to maneuver his wheelchair herself to get him inside. Finally once inside I was able to leave…20 minutes late. I got there 2hrs early too because he needed me there to prep for his friends. I was tired and very sore, ready to get home!
During the party I got a message on my cellphone stating that something was wrong with the files and that if I didn’t back things up and do a factory reset that I wouldn’t be able to make or recieve calls or text messages. I was hesitant but finally did it… and it didn’t back my phone up to current… only till May. I’ve needed a new phone for awhile so this just sped up the timing. I ordered a new phone today. Hopefully it’s much better. The phone I was using was a $50 phone. I only really used it for talk and text and did everything else on my old Galaxy Note 9 that can only be used on WiFi (which I use to do these entries too). This new phone cost me $200, it’s not as good as the one I use for all my important stuff but it’s alot better than my other one. It’ll be here in 3-5 days.
Well I’m gonna stop here because I need to run to the liquor store for Marty before I go in today. I also still plan on making healthy brownie banana bread before I go. I hope I still can. Take care my friends….
You definitely sound like you did a good job of not going to crazy on your cheat night for the party. I lose myself in those situations at times.
How awful about the seizure I’m sure that was scary.
Brownie banana bread?? I just made banana bread yesterday, but brownie banana bread sounds interesting 🤔 😊

You are an inspiration. You rarely complain and yet you give much to others, your family and Marty included, while working on losing weight and getting healthier. I admire your resilience and your flexibility. I hope you get some time to relax this weekend and enjoy some snuggle time with your doggies.
