So naive

So much is going on at work. The caregiver Angel is lying so bad to Marty about things and he’s so naive. He gets taken advantage of so bad because of this. Angel has been saying that she’s won $12,000 and that she has to drive an hour away to connect her winnings at the lottery commission. She’s been saying when she gets it she’ll give Marty $5000 to cover all her theft. It’s come down to yesterday… she said that she had to get the money then or today otherwise she forfeits it. Well last night Marty tells me that not only did she change her offer from giving him $5000 to now only offering him $1200 which would only cover a portion of what she’s stolen but she says she couldn’t get there and left them a voicemail about it. She said the winnings are from a slot machine at the Racino. Well if that’s the case there is no reason to go to the lottery commission because they don’t handle slot machine winnings, only lottery! Casinos pay out at the time of winning. So Marty called the Racino and pretended it was him that won and asked what their policy was. It was exactly what I told him it would be… they pay out at the time you win. They’re wild be no reason to go to the lottery commission unless it was a lottery ticket. So now he’s pissed that she’s lied to him. I told him had he told me it was slot machine winnings then I could have told him she was lying all along. I did tell him I didn’t believe it for a second because she wouldn’t have had to go an hour away to reach the lottery commission because we had one right downtown. I can’t believe Marty was so naive to believe all this. All he had to do was Google a couple things and he’d see it was all bullshit! He wants to confront her but he’s afraid she’ll quit. I say he should have fired her a long time ago. One good thing is that yesterday he got a call from a woman that was referred to him from one of his past caregivers to come work weekend mornings and maybe a few evenings getting him in bed at night and out of bed in the morning and going through the routines for those times. I told Marty that if he hires her and she does a good job then he should just replace Angel altogether. I don’t know if he’ll do it or not…I highly doubt it though. 

Then on the other hand there’s the Candy situation. She still says she’s moving from North Carolina back to Ohio to move in with Marty and take care of him. However she still has excuses as to why it’s taking so long. Now she says she has to have a heart catheterization on the 3rd and it all depends on her recovery as to when she’ll be able to move. She also says she has a bad back problem… so how does she think she can do the job when she can’t lift. She said she can’t even lift boxes so how’s she gonna lift a 200+ pound man? I’ve doubted she’s really going to move in with him from the beginning but when he talks to her on the phone I question whether I’m right or not. If she does really move here and in with him then she’s only doing it for the money and it pisses me off that she’ll be taking advantage of him like everyone else. He wants her here so bad that he’s overlooking the affect it’s going to have on his son. Kevin doesn’t want them there but Marty keeps saying it’ll be good for him because Candy’s daughter is autistic and can relate to him. Candy’s daughter is in her 30’s, Kev is 14. I doubt it’ll do him any good having her there. And on top of Kev not wanting them there, she’s bringing dogs and cats and Kev doesn’t like animals around him. I think it’ll be a disaster if she really comes! He says he’ll keep me on but I don’t see that he’ll need me having her there with her daughter. I guess only time will tell. I’m not going to stress it! If I end up having to go so be it. I’ll miss the money and being in Marty and Kevin’s lives but I’ll get more time with my dogs again which bothers me now that I don’t have that. 

My life these days consists mostly of Marty and all that goes on in his life. I spend so much time there. I still try and spend as much time as I can with my dogs at home but often I have to make grocery and liquor store runs for Marty and then also for myself so that takes away from them. I clean, cook, and get to watch some TV and read a little. I still also visit with my mom daily too. Today I don’t have anywhere I have to be before work other than stopping at Arby’s on my way to work to grab a salad so I’m taking this time to cuddle with my Tito and give him and Bailey as much attention as possible until I leave.
