Changes again

Just a note about Rosie — She is doing really well. She sees the vet again on Tuesday but I firmly believe that all is well. She is more or less back to herself. I can’t believe just two weeks ago we thought we were loosing her.

Mich is quitting FedEx… after working there for 16 years. She spent many many weeks brooding over whether to quit or not. I think she was holding onto it as some sort of safety net. But she has finally made up her mind to finish this program and has begun to really think positively that she WILL find a job once she graduates. It helps when she sees things about physical therapy for dogs because I really think that’s where she’s heading. She would be so so good at it… but she’d be awesome with people too. She just needs to get thru this program. One of the reasons she was holding on tho is for the little bit of money. She kept her eye on this VA program that gave money to unemployed people who were enrolled in a program approved by them… And PTA was actually an approved program… She was worried that she waited too long, but she applied and she actually got the grant!! So, she’ll be getting more money from this grant than she was making at FedEx. She’s kicking herself that she didn’t quit sooner. In two weeks she’ll go back to school and the summer bliss will be over… at least for her. I’m still enjoying this summer, but things will be a little harder on the dogs and I guess I’ll have to help out a little more with the yard work and stuff. A student from the second year told her class last year that they should just kiss their spouses at the beginning of second year, tell them they love them, and basically send them flowers once a week, because otherwise, they won’t see them. We are prepared… its the last push. It will all be over in May 2014.

We have been doing well with the gym. Although I haven’t really lost any weight, but I know I’m getting stronger and I know have a pretty firm commitment and habit of going to the gym every damn day. Sigh… Its a pain and unless I can get there first thing in the morning, I just feel like it breaks up the day so much, but I go whenever I can fit it in… I went last night at 7 and got home at 8:30… And then got up this morning and went at 6:30. At least I’m done with it for the day!

I get my hair done tonight… I’m going back to brown… I want to start with a lighter brown, but I keep seeing pictures of myself with this blond and I really haven’t been happy… I look all washed out. I hope it turns out ok because we are getting our pictures taken on Sunday… we will most likely be interviewed by a local mag on the topic of same-sex marriage and relationships. I hope the pics turn out ok.

Musikfest 2013 starts tonight too! After my hair apt, I’ll eat quickly and then we are off to see a couple bands tonight. Tomorrow we will tailgate with friends after their hockey game and then there is a performer I want to see… we won’t get to see much tomorrow because we’ll have to come home to the kids. Sunday the photos are in the middle of the day, but we’ll get over the Fest all the same. I’m taking Wednesday and Friday off next week to Fest… and next Saturday is my grandmom’s 100th bday so my mom will be in town. I’m hopeful that we’ll convince her to go so she can experience it.
