Life… Goodness

I’m feeling productive today, so I’m going to write an entry. LOL

I just finished writing my last paper for my Kid’s Yoga Training. You know… the training I finished over a year ago! Oh boy… I did get my certificate already, but I guess to be able to apply to the Yoga Alliance, they require you to do certain readings and write certain papers. I am not applying to that rip-off of an organization, but writing the papers was something that I knew I should do for myself. This last paper… like everything that seems to be about me making this "teaching yoga full time" thing an actual reality was something that I was dragging my feet about. So, its done. I set very SPECIFIC goals for myself in the paper and I plan to follow through with them. I set deadlines too…. So, next, I need to put them out in the open where I can see them and get to work. I’ve got a lot to do!

I finished my Christmas Cards last night. Is it bad that I used cards that we had from years past. Like cards that come from organizations that we give money to. We are so freaking poor and going out and spending money on cards seemed like something we didn’t need to do since we had this stack of free cards. I hope its the thought that counts more than the way the card looks. My list got much much smaller this year too… only people that I really care about got a card this year… because of postage. There are family members that I’ve always sent to in the past and I never get a card in return… and what’s worse is that they NEVER contact me throughout the year… I was sending cards to relatives I haven’t actually spoken to in over 10 years. Weird… so they are off the list. Amos helped me mail the cards this morning. We thought about doing one of those picture cards that a lot of people are doing these days, but it was going to cost like $50 to have them printed… maybe next year.

This weekend was nice. Although Mich is sick, we still did some Christmasy things. On Saturday, after we both got home, we went and walked around our little Christmas city and then came home and watched Elf. On Sunday, we went to see Its a Wonderful Life on the big screen with a jazz quarette playing a "reimagined soundtrack." I haven’t seen that movie since 9th grade. I didn’t really remember any of it. I cried like a baby at the end. LOL I think everyone did! LOL

Its been mild and rainy here the last couple of days. Not very Christmasy… but, you can’t stop the holidays from coming. Just over a week until Christmas. Mich is studying for her last final which is on Wednesday. I don’t think she’s done any Christmas shopping at all yet. LOL

December is a wonderful month for visiting with friends. We’ll be seeing our closest friends every weekend this month. This past weekend it was for our friend’s birthday. We had indian food. Next weekend, we are going to New York to see the windows, and then we’ll all get together on the 29th when one of our friends is in town from Florida. A little reunion of sorts.

Life is good. Eight days until Christmas!

It’s a Wonderful Life is by far my favorite movie of all time. I refuse to watch it in ‘colorized’ format – it MUST be black and white for me. So many wonderful messages in that movie. I watch it every year without fail. Interestingly, Elf has also been added to my must watch list every Christmas – it’s such a goofy movie, but I always laugh my butt off.

RYN: I was using my Neti pot twice a day, and even then sometimes nothing would come out at all! My face was completely stopped up. :/
