busted iphone

The phone! yes it has been a bit circuitous trying to work out the right path. I still don’t have a working mobile. I decided I would ring Apple to see if there were any tricks to try before replacing the phone. The operator tried getting me to use iTunes on a connected computer to reset the phone but it didn’t work. He said a shop in the city would replace it for $200. I rang the shop and they said $330 or more. I went to the shop and after keeping me waiting over half an hour while they disappeared with my phone said because it is water damaged it would cost $700 or something. I walked out. I then tried Optus (my prepaid carrier) tonight on the website. Their ad for iphone 4 takes you to a wizard that only applies to postpaid packages. While I was there a customer service operator thingy popup appeared so I typed my query in there and she said $425.45 and gave me a prepaid phone number to ring. I rang and spoke to an operator who was amused that I remembered my pin (I use the same password everywhere!) and that I have been a customer for over a decade. She said the best bet was to go to the Optus shop as the handset itself was not part of my prepaid package. I don’t think I will pursue buying a second hand iphone. I can see Apple on line have new iphone 4 for $449 so I think from here I will go to the Optus shop next Saturday and see what I can get cheaper (but maybe not iphone). I am determined to stay with prepaid and avoid a plan. I don’t much care about features that I don’t plan on using like apps.

Ella’s end of year performance for jazz dance was on last night and was very cute.
