painting

Paintings are looking good still for the next Dogs Bar show. The latest one is in violet hues and is coming along nicely. I like painting in violet hues, I don’t know why I don’t do it more often. I will name it after a Tom Baker era Doctor Who companion when I get around to titles. If I am not tired after work I will add another few layers tonight.

Tomorrow I will try to get along to see Andrew at beer o’clock. I have not see him since John Taylor’s opening and it seems like if I don’t go to boc I never see him.

There is going to be a pool competition at work. I don’t fancy my chances but other co-workers are taking it very seriously. We are going to have to agree on the rules now as there is money riding on it. Whether you can shoot short up the table when you place the while ball after a foul for instance.

Also at work Nic has resigned. He is the head coldfusion programmer. It will be interesting to see if he gets replaced or if the other coldfusion programmers take up the reins.

Dad is in a clinic still but expects to be out next Wednesday. I mentioned smoking to him last night on the phone as I expected that the clinic would be smoke free but this one has a smoking room and he is fagging away. He said the boring nature of being cooped up combined with the convenience of having something to do in smoking meant he was smoking more than ever. The other public ward was smoke free.

Claudia’s friends in Sydney Aleric and Denise have split up after being together for around ten years. They got engaged earlier this year but didn’t marry. Aleric wants to have children but Denise is too old to now. Not very good planning. Claudia was talking about relationships losing their edge and becoming boring. I asked if she was bored with ours as I sometimes think she is dissatisified with work and prospects but she answered that she was too busy to be bored. She asked if I was bored and I said I am not, I am busy running on the treadmill. The treadmill metaphor applies more to work though than our relationship in which I am happy. I am not excited by house renovations like she is but that is alright as I don’t feel like I need excitement from it, it is just something that needs work and then is done and you get to get on with the real stuff.

What’s a coldfusion programmer, if I may ask? Is that as literal as it sounds? Sorry your dad’s still smoking!
