So here I am again, lol
I know it’s been a while since I’ve written, but now I have lots of free time. I still work two jobs, but now that I don’t have to work both of them in the same day, I have free time. I also have a lot of free time now that I’m not swamped with homework and projects. I am still so excited about finally earning my degree. It was a long time coming, but I am glad I am done. We got to the campus about 20 mins before the parking time started, then we finally got in where they told us where to park. The graduation was supposed to start at 9am, but they didn’t get started until 9:30. So we all had to sit in our cars (one per graduate) until they came to get us. Where we were parked, I could not see anything. I did watch the stream link sometimes, but they also had it playing on a radio station. To be honest, these ceremonies are boring, and the part we all look forward to is the walk across the stage lol. I spent a lot of time standing around the outside of the car, texting my friends, posting on FB. It took a long time for them to get to us once they started coming to cars to tell graduates to exit their cars. We were first in line to park, so we were on the tail end of the line of cars they came to get us from. They did not call them in any particular order, so wherever you were in line, is where you were called once you walked the stage. We handed them a card with our name and degree info, took the degree holder, posed with the president, and we headed down off the stage. It was an awesome experience and I was all smiles. After we exit the stage, they took our pics, which should be available for download soon. They will be mailing our degrees and certificates to us, so it’ll be a while before I have the actual paper in my hand lol.
After the ceremony was over and we did the turn of the tassels, (yaay), we headed to our cars to wait for them to let us head out. We were the last to leave, but once out we headed to one store where S went to pick up the balloons he got, and then to the store he works at to get the cake he decorated. So yeah, he can be nice and I was really appreciative that he made this day special for me. It was the nicest he’s been to me in a while. He even gave me a hug once I exited the stage area and said congrats and I deserved it. I wasn’t expecting a hug, so I was surprised. We honestly had not hugged in months haha. If only he was this nice ALL the time, even during stressful times haha. So anyway, we headed home to change and all that, then we went to Olive Garden (my choice) and had a nice dinner. Overall the day was wonderful, and I’m so glad he didn’t ruin it like he did my birthday. I know that lately he’s been trying to be this nice guy, joking with me and all that. All the stuff he used to do before I was fully involved in his life as his gf. Now that I’ve learned this pattern of behavior, I know that it’s not real and that falling for it would be a huge mistake. I will say I like the peace that comes with that nice side of him, and even more so the peace of knowing I am not obligated to him for anything other than rent of occasional cooking. I still don’t like living here, even tho things aren’t as stressful. I still want to move, so that’s still on the plan.
I’ve been checking the rent in this complex (and other nearby ones) to see the trend, and noticed it kept going up. It literally went up the same time that I started working this new deli job. I was so upset, I get so close and more obstacles. So I am hoping that things still work out one way or another. It’s ridiculous how much rent up here, even for a one bedroom. Yesterday, while I was at work, I got a call from the apts. I think it’s been about a month since I’ve spoken with them about trying to get an apt here. They were following up, wanted to know if I was still on the same track. So I called them back today and I told them I still plan to move, to get off the lease, and hopefully get an apt here. I’ve done some math and if wallyworld stays consistent with my hours (I’m averaging 35, but sometimes I get 40) and stay within 12-16 hours at my cashier job, I COULD still get a one bedroom apartment in this complex. I told them I was still interested in getting off the lease, (the two asshats living here will have to show proof of income since they arIe staying in this current apt), and that I was just starting a new job and trying to factor in how much I’ve made so far this month. After looking at both paystubs, I can see that as of this moment I have made $2100, but that first check was only 40 hours period since I didn’t start until the 1st. My checks will be more here on out. I am considering picking up more short shifts at my cashier job, if I can, to help my chances. I told them that I want to stay in this complex if possible because it’s more convenient for me and I like it here (it really is a nice neighborhood).
We shall see how this turns out, but one way or another I’ll make this happen. Anyway I’m going to get off this thing and chill before I have to start getting ready for work. I’ll try to stay current here more often, now that I have time. I’m also using this free time to update my resume and my job search apps haha.
I’m happy for you girl <3
