  Well, another year around the sun has passed for me.  I’m another year older.  Sometimes I think about things that have gone on up to now and I’m happy.  Other times I think about where things haven’t gone up to now and get depressed. 

  Life hasn’t turned out as I hoped thus far.  I’m still at home, still keeping the peace at home, still helping out my parents, who aren’t getting any younger.  Still trying to graduate from a sub-standard university.  Hopefully things will get better when I start graduate school.

  But I’m going to try not to dwell on the things that haven’t gone right.  Today I’m having a short day at work.  Then I’ll go home and relax.  There will be a nice family dinner and cake.  This weekend I’m driving to see my elder sister in Arizona.  We’ll go hiking and some other stuff around town.  Then next week I start school.

  I’m wishing for some female companionship, but that’s not going to happen.  I’m not dating anyone and I’m not the type to go out to bars and pick someone up.  So, its going to be a solo birthday. 

  This isn’t the birthday entry I expected to write.  I’d better sign off now.
